Bonjour
#1

Hi there 968 world.

Just a few words to say high, and to introduce myself.

My name is Bob, I live near to Albi in France, and have just bought my third 968. My first was a RHD black clubsport that I owned for a year or two. I bought it around yr 2000. I re-registerd it with the licence number "III KMT". KMT being my, soon to be x-wife's initials, as it was nominally her everyday car. I did several track days at that time, (Goodwood, Brands and Silverstone, I recall), and my ARDS course to get my licence. I sold her in 2002 before we sold up and left the UK for Portugal  in early 2003.

I then was 968less for 12 years until I bought a LHD car in Belgium in August 2014 to do local track days here in France. Not a CS this time, but a standard(ish) coupe. LHD, violet blue, light grey interior. Car was orinally a Japan car, so no rust anywhere. and was in the UK for few years before going to Belgium. UK registration was L196 XLT. The car now has just under 147,000 kms on the clock (90,000 miles). The car had new bilstein dampers and springs, new ARB bushes, and bottom joint bushes in 2013/14. Also the top end was ovehauled, and new tsioners fitted, even though the sporckets and chain were perfect. She sits nice and low on genuine RUF 18" rims.

I soon removed the rear seats and boot carpet, and the rear wiper/motor. I am about to fit a CS seat rear seat delete kit, probably from DEUTSCH NINE INTERNATIONAL GmbH, unless anyone here knows of one for sale.

She was bought for fast Euro journeys, and track days, as my 993 is still under 100,000 kilometres, and is getting a bit to valuable for track days. The A/C on the 968 is also far better than on the 993.

Third 968 is a recent acquisition, so recent that I still have to go and collect her from Rotterdam. Not straightforward though as she is not road registered, or indeed road legal, as she is an out and out race car. I don't plan to race, but I do plan to do track days, sprints and hill climb events in Europe. She has 375 bhp (supercharged), 8 pot brakes up front (Audi R8 V10), Bigreds a the back, rose jointed suspension, choice of two quaiffe diffs, air jacks, and a bunch of other nice stuff. She runs on 18" Volk or BBS, with Michelin Porsche Cup slicks or wets. First outing affter a bit of driver instruction in the UK will be either Portimao in Portugal on the Monday after the Classic festival,(October 31st) or the following weekend at Nogaro, where my local Porsche dealer has organised a track day. (75 euros for the day ;-), with 5 half hour sessions.

So fun times ahead.

Oh,  and my humble abode in France has both a four and two post lift in the garage, available to guest in the gite and guest rooms. www.lesroues.com (hope that is OK mods, remove if not).

C'est tout

Bob

Hi Bob and welcome! There is a real shortage on Bob's here as you can imagine. Are you a Brit of origin? Just curious.
