Ok, so as per Jay’s guidance I’ll stay away from “personal” derogatory remarks / name calling , but those here who might identity with a particular group we discuss, could be offended. I have very thick skin and nothing , nothing at all , bothers me personally ( not to mention that other than my family I don’t give a flying hoot about anybody else’s opinion of me or my beliefs ) but I am to some extent sensitive to others sensibilities“ particularly if they are friends and /or members of our close knit 968 family.
So here we go : agreeing with everything “dlearl476” posted and I’m doubling down on that ! And it’s not just 1/3 , but roughly 1/2 of the voting demographic in this country which embraces fascism, anarchy, the destruction of democracy , and thrives on having a dictator in power who promotes and empowers this criminally insane cult which the far right and a majority so called “ conservatives “ have now joined , as mindless lemmings . Yes, there are a few flakes on the far left as well , and the idiotic “woke” culture, but we’re talking about maybe 10 % of those flakes who have any political clout , as opposed to 90% of the far right who align with the fascist demographic. Same with religion , while we’re at it ( see the “ Religulous “ thread on this forum ) because this is so intertwined with far right politics. Religion and faith is a mental disorder ( that’s not debatable, it’s only the degree to which it is ..mild, moderate , or severe ..) and it’s harmless because it’s simply a delusional , emotional crutch , and a part of human nature throughout history , but that stays harmless only until those beliefs are used to influence the lives of others .. and man, have we seen that multiple times in history , with nothing but death and detriment to societies.. Back to politics : so we had a president who was already a well known conman, crook and a criminal, and who managed to only expand on that m.o. while president by committing the biggest crimes and treason in American history along with his entire administration, causing irreparable harm to the fabric of our society and the credibility of this nation in the eyes of the entire world, and yet he’s breathing free , possibly attempting a comeback . He made Ceausescu , Mussolini and many other dictators look like mild mannered lambs. He deserves NO LESS than the same fate they were handed . And the same for many of his cronies . I hesitate to compare him to Hitler, in spite of so many parallels which could be drawn , but he is directly responsible for the death of hundreds of thousands of US citizens from a pandemic whose severity he consistently denied exists ( setting aside their stupidity for listening to him ) so I’m not so sure how far off that is from mass manslaughter with which he should have been charged . So when I hear anyone criticize Biden ( not that he’s flawless , but by comparison to Trump , he is practically flawless ..) I feel like throwing up at the boneheaded ignorance and dogma all around us . Mind you this is coming from someone who was ( and continues to be ) a huge Ronald Reagan fan and follower , and who still remains as an idol to me ..so keep that in perspective, as you read the above diatribe :glare: ..
