Bluapunkt symphony display
#1

Ssems to be a common problem that pixels on the radio display are failing on the Blaupunkt symphony rds, which is original to our 1992 car.

Anybody experience on fixing this or suggestions on how or where to have it repaired?

ik looks like Blaupunkt did not build these units to last for decades. Looking for replacements most have issues with the tape unit and/or the display.

Bought a Blaupunkt Atlanta from the same series with a decent working display.  My plan would be to use this display for my Symphony. So I will need to remove the front panel to get to the display.

Already opened the unit, but saw a lot of brittle plastics, so if anybody has info on how to remove the front panel, I would be grateful!

I see that Blaupunkt are now making a retro audio head unit with all modern features available (DAB, USB, Bluetooth, SDHC), the Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB. Looks a good fit for not a silly amount of money. I fitted a Continental CDD7418UB in my car because I thought it had a decent OEM look, but the quality of the fascia was a bit disappointing.

It achieves the original look though, IMHO.
