SPG Pro Racer Recaro Seats
#1

Any ideas on who has the best Recaro pricing? I am looking for a SPG Pro Racer XL seat (or 2!). Any leads on used would also be appreciated.

recaro controls their pricing pretty carefully - if you find a lower price somewhere, grab it - it won't be like that once recaro finds out about it

Just sold a used one of that exact seat but I am in the Uk

I got my new one for £650 but that was a special deal

Try www.autometricsmotorsports.com/

They seemed pretty competetive and I think that they sometimes have used ones

Gene,

Contact PAR in New Rochelle, NY. I bought mine from them last year. They are a master distributor for Recaro.

I bought the exact same model and size; there is a slight upcharge for the XL by the way...$1,300 at the time.

I got the uprights, and mounting plates from them, too. Since my wife drives the car, also, I got the tab sliders so we can adjust the seating position.

PAR's phone number is (914) 637.8800

Regards,

Jason

i went through this before i got mine

when i spoke to recaro myself (not a dealer, but someone at recaro direct who set the pricing), they said that retail pricing was carefully controlled, and they would be agressive about correcting dealers that were selling below authorized prices - they want to keep the prices up - they don't want to become corbeau - the recaro name and quality demand a higher price - so they don't let anyone blow them out or sell them for less, which alwys leads to a downward spriral for a company - there are slight variances, but shipping and taxes make it up

the moral of the story, if you find a deal, pull the trigger - they are likely to get nailed as soon as recaro finds out about it

PAR has a couple on ebay now for $899. They are not XL's, but it is a good price.

I'm not small and I still fit in the standard size. Hopefully you've been able to sit in some before buying. The Pro Racer is deep sided and the wings can cut into your side vision - depending on your height.

Thanks Eric. The Pro XL fits great. I expect to call PAR next week if I can't find another deal.
