Balanced suspenion setup.

I am young, so I want it stiffer (maybe I just like the pain). I think I will listen and go a little softer. I currently am thinking 300lb fronts and 150ish lb rears. Also I think I will get the upper and lower front braces.

Personally I love the KWV3 in my car, eats up the bumps on 95 in Philly on the way to RSB. Adjust them properly and they are a good setup for the car, the rebound is very nice when set properly.

How does 300lb 8" front springs and 150lb 8" rear springs? Should this be a good setup?

Personally if I wasn't ever going to track the car I would probably go for 250 front springs and either leave off the rear coilovers or go for a 100 - 125 rear spring. It also depends on what type of roads you drive on. The 350 will be fine on most roads but may be a little stiff on rough roads for a daily driver.

I ordered the kit. I got 300lb front and 150lb rear springs (all 8" tall). I think I will like this setup. If it don't I'll let you know so you can say told you so!

lol - no worries - good luck - the reindexing will probably be as big of a challenge as any other part of the project - if i had to do it over again, i'm not sure i wouldn't just insert bigger bars and be done with it - i'm in there for the 4th time now, and sure hope this is the last

As a new owner, I'm curious as to ride heights that you long time owners have and like. I measured 26in ground to the top of the wheel well fender opening on both the back and front. The car looks like it is sitting high in my opinion.



I read the "Torsion Bars - Removing, Replacing and Indexing" post on Clarks Garage 944 page to understand how to lower the back. It was very informative. Has anyone done the spring plate adjustment they discuss? It said ride height could be adjusted +- 1/2 in. If so, does anyone know the size of the eccentric bolt head. It seems pretty large, like almost 36mm.

I've had mine adjusted. When I put new Koni shocks and coils in the rear, the ride height jumped from 26.5 to over 27. Eccentric brought it back down to 26.5, which I believe is stock height. I'd like it to be a bit lower, but that would require torsion bar removal and I don't want to go there. I don't know the size of the eccentric bolt, but I don't remember it being that that large. You can see it pretty easily if you look under the car, even when it's not jacked.



In the front, I am at 25.5 with koni struts and there is a lot of room to move in either direction.



With this set-up the car handles great.

VERY IMPORTANT!!!



make sure you loosen the bolts next to the adjuster - also, when you loosen the adjuster, do NOT loosen it too much - there is a very short shoulder that is easily damaged by failure to do either of these



also, be VERY CAREFUL as the car is under load and when you loosen these, it will want to drop quite forcefully

Flash, Are you saying that the bolt has a shoulder or is there a shoulder on the plate? I was wondering if I needed to hold the bolt head which is quite large while loosening the nut. The bolt head on the eccentric is what is large.

the bolt has a shoulder - it is eccentric - that is how height is adjusted - it moves within a slot in the plate - you rotate the bolt head
