that's because there has been so much progress in most every other area. the administration deserves some defending.



the other administrations were so lame that everything sucked, and there was a hard time picking what to gripe about.



at least now people will be able to get health care. the economy is recovering. we aren't in any wars, and we are downsizing our bloated military. we are moving toward cleaner air, water and energy, in spite of the conservative road blocking.



if obama hadn't blown all of his political capital getting elected the first time, we would be a lot farther along on the right path. i'm not a fan of everything his administration has done, but it's a whole lot better than the previous one. two in his hands has been way better than those of any bush.

I would appear that from the memo above that this ruling came from the NHTSA and not from EPA as was alleged above. The purpose seems to be to get ATE to conform to a Federal standard for brake fluid colors. As "inked" note farm diesel is red to distinguish it from automotive diesel which has more taxes applied to it. Did you know that avgas is colored blue? The reason is that it is a higher octane fuel, leaded, and unsuitable for anything but aircraft use. You wouldn't want to try and fly your restored warbird or any other piston powered aircraft on mogas. Jet fuels are also colored as is hydraulic fluid. The purpose of this is make it easy to determine what the grade of jet fuel or avgas is in the aircraft before attempting to take off. A smart pilot always draws a fuel sample from the bottom the fuel tank to determine whether the fuel is correct for the aircraft and clear of any contaminants. Aircraft hydraulic fluid is colored red so the hydraulic leaks can be easily seen. That is why most landing gear bays are painted white.

Yup our hydro fluid is red and also a higher grade for aircraft and a lot more expensive.

We do run avgas in some of our gear, tugs, forklift and generators as it is better than ethanol crappy gas and sits better...

If the reason they stopped the blue is so people don't put the wrong thing in the wrong place that is just stupid. Nanny state Government B.S. goes wild again if you ask me. If you are too stupid to read the label on the can and put the right fluid in the right place you deserve what you get. I am sick of the govt. changing rules or taking things away just because a few people have no common sense. Just like all the over the top, completely stupid, warnings they put on everything now because of some lawyer or beaurocrat. That is just my 2 cents. My vent for the day.

Wait till you find out Obama has new regulation that all golf clubs be of the same size and weight and shape and must adhere to a government chosen standard. Something about it being fair for all and nobody having an advantage. Oh but the government employees are exempt from that standard.

people are too stupid too often. as a general rule they need to be led by the hand, just so as to keep them out of trouble. take a look around the next time you are around people. i bet you won't go 10 minutes without seeing somebody do something stupid. we should be penalizing stupidity, rather than coddling it. we don't. so instead we need to booby proof everything. if we didn't we would have even more frivolous lawsuits.

To keep this thread on a car theme, one of my all time favorites is the warning on the older style sunshields ( the cardboard ones ) - in bold, red letters at the top or bottom corner of those the advisory was : DO NOT DRIVE WITH SHIELD ON , or WITH SHIELD IN PLACE, or something along those lines.

My wife is a sephardic jew whose family, on both sides, suffered horribly at the hands of Nazi Germany whose policy it was to improve the gene poll by killing jews and other ethnic and religious minorities, the mentally ill, by the millions. There was just, in the past couple of days, a story in the news about a woman who received an unsigned note from a neighbor suggesting that she have her autistic son euthanized. While you comment was probably made in jest, it was nevertheless offensive and in poor taste.[/color]
