So other than rebodying our cars with a more angular body shape, such as used by a stealth fighter and then coating it with highly reflective surface such as the shiny side of all those CDs you don't listen to any longer, what sort of ECM (electronic counter measures) device is recommended?

i'm working on that research right now - it's a daunting task, but i should have some answers shortly - i've sorted through most of the BS and actually found some stuff that should work

the radar part is pretty easy - i already have that information, and will be posting it shortly - the laser part is the tough one

the bottom line though is that you get what you pay for, nothing is fool-proof, and you have to be smarter than the gadget, and pay attention to it when it gives you a warning

Maybe the solution really is mount a Prius body on a 968 frame and then cover the entire thing with mylar. You'd have a car that nobody would expect to have the level of performance it actually has. Kinda like that VW Van that was built with a Porsche Turbo's underpinnings and engine that someone posted a video link to on the forum last year.

Given that my wine making operation is low budget affair at this point in time, the transfer of wine between tanks or into bottles is accomplished by gravity flow which requires the use of the time honored mouth suction method to establish. The wine tastes so much better than gasoline used to when I was "borrowing" fuel out of my parents car.

while we're talking sci-fi solutions, why not have someone develop a laser jammer ( Bob, leave the supercharger, the clutch, all the other yada, yada projects on the backburner and start on this ) which bounces back a signal causing a taser-like 50,000 volts jolt to the radar holder - hey, come on just a tingle, a gentle reminder everytime they use those to capture our cars' speed that their time is much better spent instead on ticketing red light violators, drunk drivers, people driving while still using hand held cell phones, putting on make up, reading, texting, eating, blah, blah, .. or (very) old folks driving 20 mph and suddenly crossing three lanes in two seconds ..without signaling.. far greater risk than I pose entering the higway at a modest triple digit speed, in a 968.. I got nailed by one of those lasers listed in the post. Never had a chance. Light is pretty fast ya know. By the time I had lifted my foot off the pedal the cop had the speed on his gun and was flipping open the ticket pad.

The reading I have done on laser is pretty depressing. Unless you have nothing that will reflect the light back to the gun (so no, nada, zero) verticle sufaces (yes the bumper cover is vertical) then you are hosed.

I'd gladly pay an extra $1000 fee annually if I could get a sticker that tells the cops to leave me the f#$% alone, just for speeding. I'd pay $5000 to be immune from all traffic violations (I'd probably end up getting shot by some PO'd Prius owner in the HOV on ramp).

Anyway, it seems like a lost cause at this point. And the speed cameras are brutal - can't beat 'em.
