Another 968 Title
#1

After winning my class in the season ending autocross yesterday, I have wrapped up first in the season long statewide Challenge Series for my class. Yay!

It was a competitive class this year, with 968s, Boxsters, 964s, RS Americas, 3.2s, 944 Turbos, and S2s. Won almost every event entered (only exception was being beaten by 3/100ths at one track event).

The 968 performed great all year (track events and autocrosses), at many events beating all cars there regardless of class, except trailered race cars (just can't compete with some of those).

So, thought I'd share, as I'm pretty pleased with they way things went this year. Doing my best to fly the 968 flag out here!

Attached a photo from one event where, after cording two tires, did competitive runs with a friend's rear wheels/tires on the car, and my rear wheels/tires up front. This is the one where I lost by 3/100ths!

Way to go Chris! Thats showing everyone what can be done with a Tiptronic! I have also won my class for the year-long die Serie Championship again with "ol blue". We still have another autocross on November 11, but no-one can catch me (even if I don't run the event). Looking forward to next year when Roadrunner Region adopts the PCA Rules and I will not have those pesky 964 Porsches to contend with. Good driving & good luck, Bob Blackwell.

Nice job, Bob. Lucky you getting rid of the 964s! Would be nice not to worry about them here! They are quite competitive.

Amen! We have two drivers in the Region who are extremely difficult to beat in their 964. Next year I only have the other 968 and 944S2 Porsches in my class. Looking forward to it..........my age must be showing. Good luck, Bob Blackwell.

Congratulations, I managed to win autocross club championships in my 968 last year (the first year after getting the car), but I'm not going to get the championship this year becasue I did not do enough events, although I'm the point leader for BS. That's what i get for starting road racing, not enough time for autocross <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Cheers, on the slippery slope

I wish we'd do that. My class seems to include everything under the sun. I drew the line when a Cayman S driver showed up in our class this past weekend. Turned out he needed to be two classes higher than me, but that was scary. At our events, those cars have proven to be VERY capable in the right hands.
