Another 968 in Santa Barbara CA
#1

Hi All,

I bought a black and tan '94 cab in August '08 and have been lurking around this forum ever since. This forum has been a wealth of information for a first time Porsche owner, and I wanted to say thanks.

Mods I've done so far include the airbox, RSB stage 1 chip, design1 strut brace, leds in the instrument cluster, and overhauled the stereo (kenwood head unit, speakers, sub with amp, bluetooth and sirius)

There was a cab for sale on our local PCA site (www.VIRPCA.org) from Santa Barbara for quite a while and I see it's not listed anymore; wondering if it is the same one?

Time to answer your first question. I have put in an RSB stage 1 chip this winter but won't be on the road till May What is your impression of the before RSB chip and after feeling? Does it register in the the seat of your pants?

Welcome...
FYI: one of the best mechanics in the tri-county area is Henri over at Schneider's AutoHaus off of De La Vina St. They're a little expensive and not too quick, but do good work. Unfortunately there are very few that are familiar with the 68 engine & trans, so it's either AutoHaus or the dealer. I do most of own work, but if I don't have the special tools I'll take to Henri. I'm just down the coast in Ventura.

Dave,
don't know about the car being listed on VIRPCA; bought it on consignment from a dealer here in town and was told by my mechanic (Henri at Schneider's) that the PO was also in the SB area.
I ran with only the airbox mod for a few days before installing the RSB chip hoping to better differentiate a before-and-after feel - seems more responsive to acceleration with the chip when passing through 4k rpm

Tks for the info. Just liiving vicariously through others until I hit the road in May. I have done many mods this winter including the air box/chip and I can hardly wait for better weather.
