Just rediscovered this thread. Flash, you never leave people wondering about your opinions.
I quite like some 68s with matching wheels. Speed yellow CS with the Club Sport lettering down the side. dark colours with matching wheels don't work so well.
i like Black wheels, too especially with silvers, like on my car

Joe,
That was the 05 Parade in Hershey. We saw you driving around. Great car. I think the wheels look good.

I just got mine back from the painter and after a long deliberation I ended up getting them painted silver just as they were. The painter wanted to do them in Porsche Titan grey. I asked all the neighbours and friends, they all loved the colour but my son and I weren't convinced about dark wheels on a Midnight Blue car. I"m glad we decided not to colour the wheels.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I actually like the dark grey wheels on midnight blue, but it is all in the ye of the beholder.

Now wait just a minute! I recall a certain purple ebay car that we had all talked about being too "pimped out". I do believe I was the <i><b>lone </b></i>voice that started to really like the color and the way it complemented the curves of the car. Albeit this one is a lot more tasteful intr wise, funny how everyone loves this one.

PS- Nice car.

Two different colors. Although the color your speaking of is posted here.

i think the "pimped put" comments were related to the "gilding of the lily" done to the car, and not the color of the car (wheels, doors, etc)

i just noticed that purple cab above has a grey rear shelf and front seats but a purple steering wheel and rear seat backs

That is because Porsche offered two flavors of magenta, full magenta and magenta with light gray (which is the same as black/light gray, classic/light gray, cobalt blue/light gray). You always got the parts you mentioned above along with the dash, upper door panels, ect., in the contrasting color. The light gray would be the seats, lower door panels, carpet.

Nope, the Porsche name for the color is light Gray, at least with 968s.

I had it as well on my old cab but paired with classic gray.

BTW, my old cab was a little different because my car had the $63 deviating carpet option so my carpets were made in classic, a good practical choice, as opposed to the light gray.

Your interior code is code VG. Thay made 5 cabs with that interior (3 92s, 2 93s).

I have that same color in my coupe I have only known it as linen.

When ordering my replacement armrest I chose the color linen from what paragon had to offer and it matched perfectly. I have also seen a 993 with the same color seats as mine and it was described as linen.

However when doing searchess for linen I pull both the light gray and the light tan seats. Confusing.

linen is lighter than light grey

that being said, nothing surprises me anymore, and yours could have been labeled as one thing and built as another - i've now seen plenty of cars with dealer installed options not found on the stickers, cars mislabeled (based on the stickers and such), cars whose interiors have been completely changed by the dealer prior to delivery, and one whose paint color did not match the color code (and according to the original owner, it was not repainted, and i tend to believe him since i looked everywhere unsuccessfully searching for signs of it)

sure wish i got the contact info on some of the stuff over the years - i really suck at that though

If you look at the sale brochures, dealer books, even PET (parts), they all refer to the light gray as light gray. I've never seen a reference to the 968 and linen. I think that may have been a 944 interior color. To make matters worse, light gray is the name of the light gray interior color used on 92-94.5s. For 94.5 - 95 they changed the color to marble gray and it is a shade different from light gray. So if you see a 95 with black/light gray it is really black/marble gray. Dofferent codes and part numbers for marble gray parts as well.

linen carpet should be 2XF
linen with white pinstripe should be 4WJ

i've only seen one car with linen so far, and it was a month after i got mine and was not really paying attention to these things at that time - i just remember it was almost white, but not quite, and definitely not any shade of grey - i can't even remember if the seats were leather or cloth - no clue if it was original or not

I thought this chart would help but it is obviously incomplete. No light gray.

Interesting but yet another example of something for "all Porsches" but not correct for any one model. The best data for our 968s is the factory literature produced at the time. It all says the same thing.

Here is a window sticker for a light gray interior car.
