So today, while at a stop light, a guy beside me in a truck asked me "is that a 944 with a front end treatment?" So I told him it was a 968, has asked me if it was a 928, I repeated that it was a 968, and he drove off telling me that my car was "the best looking 928 that he had seen in a while". Certainly it would have been the most unusual one.
But then I started to wonder - did he know something that I didn't? Specifically,
1. is this treatment available only for 944s?
2. are rear end treatments also available? and can you mix a front end treatment of one type with a rear end treatment of another type?
3. where can one get this?
4. it it a spray-on, DIY, etc?
5. are other treatments available in other disguises? Could I get a 959 treatment for a 968?
6. what is the cost?
7. is there a guarantee?
Just some musing while waiting for the light to turn green.

The question I got recently is "Now what is the difference between a 968 and a 928?"
Answer: 4 cylinders.

Right before the Cayman was released, I had a guy at a stoplight ask me if I was driving the "new Porsche". When I told him it was a 968 and it was 13 years old, he got a funny look on his face like "WTF"? Then the light went green. I got juvenile on him and blazed of the line.
