Like this

ebay offerings look weak. Let me know if you have an alternate ideas. Wheel Enhancement is a bit pricey for my taste.

Thanks

Very nice! I'm sure they'll look great on the 968. Wish I could help you with your search. Best of luck!

check the offsets on the rear. Some 911s used a 68 mm offset. A bit much for a 968 needing 52. I have a set that have this and I needed to use a bolt-up 20 mm spacer.

These are 993 Cup (Cup II) wheels - which were an OEM fitment for the later model 968's (my car came with them as OE fitment).

Fronts are 7.5x17 with a 65mm offset, rears are 9x17 with a 55mm offset. I had to go down to the garage to confirm. I can send photo's of the part numbers, etc on the inside of the rims if required.

Photo's of car prior to the never ending rounds of modifications done since purchasing it.

Those are the 911/993 17" wheels. The difference between those and the ones that came on the 968 is the front wheel. You'll sacrifice a 1/2" width on the front compared to the standard 968 fronts. Shouldn't notice it unless you are pushing the car. They should fit just fine.

Are you suggesting that I am too lazy to push my car or that I'm too wise to miss an opportunity to help train our youth?

Anywho... I want more grip so I would imagine that a skinnier tire would not be a good idea right? I currently have 205s on my 16's up front, and it looks like these wheels also take the 205s. Same width wheel then?

you would be going down in profile though, so you would gain some width due to the nature of an aspect ratio, as well as gain some stability due to the lower profile

It increases the overall diameter a little (I like it, don't need 3500rpm in 6th on the highway), but I put 245/45/17 tires on the fronts and 275/40/17 on the rears (993 Cup wheels 17x7 front and 17x9 rear). The 245 front is suppose to be on at least a 7.5", but work fine on the 7". I did an autocross with them reaching about 65mph and heavy turning and they were great.

YMMV

Yes they do. I have the Boxter 9X17 ET55's on all 4 corners for autocross.

It's worth noting that the factory 17" "Cup IIs" that came in 968s are 8" in front, vs the 7.5" 993 versions. I have both

The last set I bought were Speed Yellow & I paid $1200 for them & then had them painted silver.
I have a set with Bridgestone RE-01R's that are just perfect for the track. They were powdercoated silver. One rear has a small nick from something on the road. One front fell over in the garage on the face. If you look hard you can see defects.
How much are you willing to spend? These are the proper 65mm offset 7.5 front & 55mm 9 in the rear. They will probably cost $100 shipping.

Barth7, the 8" front wheels were optional for the 968. They are winter wheels.

The 993 cup wheels are only 7" fronts, not 7.5"

When these were installed on a 993, yes the fronts are 7". People use the term "993" in the description because they are more common. When this style of wheel is fitted to a 968 or 928GTS (same size) they are 7.5" in the front with a 65mm offset. The front offset is what makes them so hard to find.
