968 WTB
#1

Fellow enthusiasts - I am interested in purchasing a 968 coupe (no cabriolets) in very nice, well cared for condition. If anyone knows or has one for sale, please contact me. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for all those that replied. I decided to go another direction so I'm no longer in the market.

Sarcasm ? Or were all the replies via PM ? Or, did Flash delete all the posted replies because of the "no cabriolets" remark ?, lol He's still having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that convertibles are " incomplete cars " lol ..that's why he's buying a targa ( aka - a hard top compromise ).

Leave the poor man alone. Have you no comprehension on how difficult it was to not only admit his mistake, but apologize for it? He is still working through those demons!

lol - hardly.  only convertibles are real cars.  having a roof that doesn't go down is like only having 1 golf club in your bag.  a targa is like having a full set, PLUS the hybrid club that a normal set (convertible) doesn't have.

yeah, keep saying that to yourself often enough ( the " real cars " ) and someday you may believe it.    hey, if you have enough skill you only need one golf club in your bag - a 3 iron.  any more clubs than one is for sissies.

funny - i used to only carry a 4 iron, a wedge, and a putter on a local 9 hole course i played frequently.  there were only 2 holes where you could even think about a driver anyway.  it just made for a chip shot to the green, instead of potentially driving to it.  drove people crazy, largely because i would be 4 or 5 strokes under them every time.  it's not like i was a great golfer either.  i just hit more of the same shot, thereby increasing the repeatability and consistency. they would drive into the trees, and have to chip on anyway, and i would hit the 4 to the fringe just in front and have a nice easy chip.  the rest of the holes i was pinning it.

as for the car thing, i never understood the idea of wanting to be enclosed with a roof.  but for the noise, it seems incredibly limiting, and a whole lot less fun.  but, i understand about not wanting to mess up your hair.  fortunately, that's not an issue for me.  for somebody who likes to drive fast, and feel that kind of rush, having the top down makes the experience a lot easier to do a lot more frequently.  at 90 with the top down, you feel like you're going 150 in a hardtop.

Re driving in cabs - two words :  Marie Antoinette   Rolleyes    Or, closer to reality : Jane Mansfield  ( although the Mansfield decapitation seems to be a myth ) , or James Dean .  In any case, you get the point .   Also, the 968 sunroof is so huge, its removal turns the car into a cab ( and without the flex ) so if you really want that wind in your hair.. there you go !

You were doing ok until you mentioned the sunroof. Do you have people who take your roof off?

roflamo - hardly the same thing.  you get the noise but not the flow.  it's like playing video golf at one of those batting cage places, instead of the real thing.

p.s. - news flash - hardtops aren't all that much safer than convertibles, especially nowadays.  they pass the same rollover and crash tests.
