Youngtimers Rally
#1

I participated on a trip guided by a roadbook which was organised by a Belgian car magazine. We started in Brussels and ended up doing a few laps on the circuit of Spa-Franchorchamps.

As you can see, the weather was great and we all had a blast! When we arrived there, there was a classic car racing event going on, with Ford GT40, Lola, 911RSR, Ferrari... You name it.

There was only 1 other 968 present in the rally, out of 175 cars. Guess next to what car I was parked at the circuit?

Here's a few pics, you can browse through some more here:

Thanks for sharing , must have been a great event, and much fun !

p.s. LOL, only in Belgium , Holland or the U.K , you can consider a day where the sky is packedl with ominous-looking dark clouds ( as seen in the photo ) to be " great weather ".

Haha, didn't even notice that before. I swear it was a very sunny day, I even had the sunroof out the whole time.

The circuit has it's own microclimate too: https://www.flyvictor.com/blog/2015/07/2...corchamps/

Anyways, if it's not even halfway raining over there locally, it's a VERY nice day :-))

Just for the record, I can't stand sunny days , or any temps above 70 F , for that matter . ( that's why I live close to San Francisco ; near-perfect weather for me , all-year-round )

Back to the first post photo : Loooove that picture ! I'd make a poster of it for the man-cave ( aka the garage to many of us ..)

Is that a James Bond Alfa?  I noticed he was using his smoke screen to try to lose you.

The more the merrier! Maybe we should be on the lookout for more events and meet up this summer.

The Ardennes are a great place to hoon around on or in anything on wheels, but I'm sure there are plenty more great options.
