Wounded Warriors Rally
#1

I did a rally today with the local Porsche Club. We picked up a soldier at Walter Reed Hospital. THe rally was throught the Maryland country side. The idea was total the speed limit signs. The team with the correct total won. The wiinning team got $1000 for the soldier. We didn't win but it was great to offer some diversion to the soldiers. My guy was wounded in Aghanistan and lost a leg and had the other in a cast. He was a great guy with a very positive attitude. I was proud to be part of this. Attached is a picture with the 968 (the only one).

Thank you. My son is supposed to be shipped out in the fall for his third tour.

I am military myself, and want to thank you for this service, and ask how to get involved. I will be moving to Norfolk in the winter and would love to participate (as a driver...) next year!

This is great you should be very proud. If you give us a heads up, maybe we can put together a 968 group for next year.

As a vet of the Vietnam era, I'd like to say thanks on behalf of all vets for the kindness, etc. you've conveyed by your actions.

It was the least I could do. In addition, I got to drive the 968 over twisty roads and provide some diversion for a wounded warrior. We are fortunate here in the Washington, DC area to provide something addtional to these soldiers. They're were some double amputees in the mix.One with both legs gone and a hand. It really made me feel lucky to have all my faculties. It seems most had some kind of leg injuries. Then some that didn't have any outward signs of an injury.

I suspect the physical and mental injuries coming out of these two wars are going to haunt us as a society for years. We have never done an admirable job with our wounded vets and now we will have a moral and ethical obligation we are I'll prepared to deal with!
