Just picked up my '93 968 Convertible
#1

Picked her up on Saturday. Sunday if was very cold but the sun was out so I got to do some cleaning...

I spent quite some time finding her but in the end it was worth is. Cobalt Blue, 79.000 KM (= approx 50K Mls), full service history, all belts changed only 3K km ago, leather seats are like new. Now let's hope the weather get better so I can take her out!

Looks great. When you get what you want its always worth the wait. Was this the color you were searching for?

Hey Guys. My "nr. 1" colour would have been Midnightblue, but Cobalt Blue was great to, also silver or black our something like that. I am quite close to Germany here and I found some convertibles at good prices but all with quite low mileage without service history and in "funny colours" like pink and light purple.

Anyways, realy chuffed to have found a car in this kind of condition. Price was higher than the others I saw, but here I was completely sure of getting a car in absolutely fantastic condition with no worries to be expected.

Over all I think your in great shape going with a low mileage car but unfortunately many have found the pinion bearing to be an issue. Often not rearing its ugly head till around 60k-75K mile.

Do a search and you'll find many threads with tons of info.

Hey! The interior is dark blue. I was a little reluctant at first, but it is realy, realy dark, it is almost black. The top is also very dark blue (slight negative point is that the Porsche Car Cover leaves some fibres on the hood...).

Thx everybody for the nice comments. I've started getting the paper work OK (ordering plates, insurance,...) so she is completely ready when the better weather (finally) comes!

Yves,

I like the car cover - is it a custom cover?

Where did it come from?

Hey!

I got the cover with the car from the previous owner, it's an OEM Porsche "Tequipment" product.

Looks like a real good buy, I am a strong believer in the extra price for a "mint" example is always a lot cheaper than bringing something else up to a similar state.. (which will never be full history, low km's, etc..)

Yves,

79K is equal to about 49,000 miles - great find and welcome to the 968 community in the USA.
