968 is Great
#1

I just purchased my first Porsche about a month ago. I had become more or less obsessed with the 944 Turbo for the last two years and the things I noticed many of them wished they had were door handles, a spoiler, mirrors, and a 3.0 from a 968. A really good deal on a 968 came up nearby and I jumped on it (I don't know how I convinced my wife?!).

Well I couldn't be happier with my purchase and I am now the proud owner of a 1994 Black and Tan Porsche 968.

My car and I live in Los Gatos, CA. She has 168k miles and is due for a timing belt replacement @170k which I plan to do myself. Within the next 30k miles I plan to slowly piece together parts for a turbo conversion.

First though is to get the interior back into immaculate shape and get the drivers seat some new leather!

I very much look forward to participating in these forums.

Thanks,

Jak

Welcome - your car is just like mine - right down to the ratty driver's seat! Some previous owner did NOT care for my car the way a Porsche deserves. After two years, I'm slowly making progress bringing it back though. Good luck with yours! Pretty much everything you'll need to know is here so spend some time looking through the archives.

Welcome to the forum. My story is similar. I set out to buy a 951 and came home with a 968. I'm not quite sure what happened!

My car is around 150K now and still runs hard. Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the forums.
