Not only is it TAX DAY...but if you're planning to come to dinner, your check had better be in the mail. The number of diners will be finalized on Saturday and that's the way it is...we reallly, really want to see you there!!!

Possibility of showers with a UV index of 6 (High)...I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Especially for Sunday fun run...come watch Flash's car get all dirty...worth the price of admission.

During many of the past events we have had some drizzle in the early morning but by late morning the weather is great and the last two years has been textbook perfect.

First time his top will go up in over a year! Unless he shuffles it back to the trailer prior to the raindrops. Come to think of it, first time my top will have been up in over a year too...

Guess I better try that silicone RTV trick for fixing my cab seals, mine isn't that water tight.. It's up in the air right now getting new rotors and pads for it's voyage up there.

A knight was driving through the woods and saw a damsel in distress. Like all knights, he courteously offered his honer. So she, like a good damsel, honored his offer. And so it was all night long - honor, offer, honor, offer.

Why, you ask, has this post anything to do with knights, distress, honor and offer?

Because this trip, which has caused me much distress, and which has been an on-er and and off-er, is now again an on-er with a good part of the driving at night.

The stupid lecture that apparently only I can present on intra-and inter-sample variability in the analysis and interpretation of environmental data, is back on BUT can get over early enough for me to go. So, I shut up at 4:15 on Thursday pm, hit the road 15 minutes later, drive for about 700 km to a little spot called Degelis just inside the Quebec border, sleep for a bit, get up early on Friday morning, drive to Montreal and then into the great south land to end up in Hershey in time, I hope, to drink wine, eat cheese and talk about cars until late. Should be there about 7-8 pm. Hopefully nobody will be in bed then. If so, I will be waking everyone up.

Kim, I expect that I'll be arriving later than your target...so maybe we can tip some late ones together. I look forward to seeing you. Drive safe.

Jay - if it isn't considered giving out private info could you put our "forums names" next to the real names? I don't know who these folks are without seeing the forums name.

In the 7 years that I hoasted the 968 events in Hershey, during the Swap Meet, rain has always been an unpredictable factor. However, we have never had to cancel a scheduled event due to continuous rain. We had a few showers, one year a brief thunderstorm and then everyone whipped out their leather rags, wiped off the cars and we continued to enjoy ourselves. I would recommend, as a participant, that everyone stick to their original plans to come to this great event.

Jay, as mentioned in previous posts on this thread, I had sent my check to you on March 7 (#3928) so I should be on the dinner list. If you prefer that I not attend the dinner, I request that you return my check and make arrangements with Charlie and Ginger, since I had promised to pick them up at the hotel and sit at the same table with them.

In any case, I look forward to seeing many of you at the Hotel on Friday afternoon/evening and at the Swap Meet on Saturday.

Reservations are now closed.

Looking forward to seeing you all at Fenicci's on Saturday night.

Jay,

Thanks for clearing that up, I appreciate it.

I see a lot of familiar names on the dinner roster and I look forward to seeing all of you again. I will bring my updated "968 Library Book" (in my 968 Forums bag, of course) and my photos books from the 7 events that I hosted plus photos from the 2005 event (Cosimo and Randi hosted) and the 2006 event (Jay and Pete hosted). Be sure to take a moment to check out the library and all the pictures!

Look forward to seeing many of you on Friday afternoon/evening at the hotel and the late arrivals on Saturday at the Swap Meet.

Looks like Friday will be sunny with a high near 70
Saturday is a 30% chance of showers, highs in the upper 60's
Sunday has a 60% chance of showers, hopefully late in the day, temps in the 60's.

Chance of having a great time at Hershey nearing 100%

I plan on making the Sunday fun run rain or shine...this is GP, not NASCAR!

well, i'll be making the sunday fun run rain or shine as well. Just dont know how fun its going to be for me. My tires are like glue when the sun is out, but they slide all over the place in the rain.

I appreciate that, I got rid of the all weather tires 2 years ago when I realized that I don't drive in "all weather". Toyo T1Rs will probably feel like studded Blizzaks compared to your tires.

Go slower and enjoy the drive, we don't want anyone getting hurt.

Jay, Thank you for your efforts in putting this together. The one thing i wished we had last year was a fun ride. The whole event sounds awesome this year and i dont think a better one could have been put together.
