OK, you scared me into making my reservation. Got a king, non-smoking. I guess I'm attending.

It wouldn't be a celebration without you Jim

Besides, who would lead the parade through the gate?

You're too kind, Jay - thanks! I'm wondering if anyone would notice if the route from the hotel to the park took 30 minutes?

Nice to see that the committee is all getting on board

With all of the late breaking news, the event just keeps getting better and better.

Jay,

My check for the Saturday night dinner has been sent.

Saw your ad for the 968 Gathering on page 79 of the March PCA Panorama. Since it gives the "reservation password", there is definitely an incentive for attendees to call and make their reservations right away. The one year (I believe 2002) we published the password, we lost 10 rooms to other Porsche Swap Meet attendees who could not find a room and thus took our hotel reservations.

Look forward to seeing everyone again at the 968 Gathering, in conjunction with the Central PA PCA Swap Meet, the largest Porsche Swap Meet in the world!

Hi kids!

Looking forward to seeing everyone in Hershey this year! We're going to have a great -- and relaxing -- time over three days. I'm so excited that we'll have Ivan with us, and it's always great to have Flash and Pete. Added to all of our loyal 968 East Coasters, is this the largest gathering of the 968 Braintrust ever?!?!

Flash, take lots of pic's along the way....maybe we can show your trip on a screen somehow.

Naturally, I'll tap into my wine cellar to bring along some goodies for our wine tasting. And, Jay, just a small thing, but the correct spelling is "wineau" (or "wineaux" for plural)....we are not just ordinary wino's!

We'll have a great tailgate party again this year. I'll suply sammich fixin's and other core items, so bring along something to share...appetizer, salad, dessert, munchies, beverages (soft drinks and adult beverages that can be discreetly consumed). The hotel rooms have small refrigerators in them, so you can keep things chilled if needed.

Also note that the hotel has an indoor pool and whirlpool -- a perfect spot for cocktails!

Yippee! See y'all in Hershey.

Thanks Kathy, spell correction duely noted, as you are a connoisseur/abiteur of all "adult beverages".

REMINDER: One week to go on hotel rooms, please book ASAP!

I'm planning on getting to Hershey early on Friday afternoon (the 23rd) to set up the wash and shine and get things rollling...check in is at 3:00 PM. Friday is developing well and we will probably have some prizes to share with special 968ers (foreshadow).

The next thing I will be bugging you all about is the Saturday Night Dinner. I must have your check in my hands by April 17th or you are not on the list.

This is lining up to be a great event! All the GOOD people are coming , and a lot of new faces too. I'm planning on having a blast if we get 20 cars or 50 cars...I'm only counting on my fun-o-meter.

Wow, wish I could get there earlier to partake in the festivities.
I'm driving from Vancouver Canada to pay a visit to Pete at the Barn.
I don't expect to get there until sometime Sunday, unless I drive like a mad man.
So, I guess I'll just have to read about it.
Have fun.

i am really looking forward to this - the smaller pca related segment of time of the celebration, while the "anchor" portion of the event, and the motivator for everybody to be in one place at one time, is a pretty much a non-event for me - the other activities provided and/or arranged by all the others are the draw for me - i'm really looking forward to seeing everybody again, and especially the fun run

Just a note Ivan Arzola from IMA Motorsport wil be staying at the Hilton Friday and Saturday. I convinced him that he needs to be at the Swap Meet early Saturday morning to set set up as he will be a vendor at the swap meet. Not an advertisement just an FYI.

Your driving from Vancouver (BC, Canada) to PA!
You need to keep us informed on it so that it can assist me in my preparations for the trip to Hershey next year.

Now that IMA is a sponsor, I guess it is an advertisement

Its all family now....

I didn't want to run afoul of the rules and I wasn't sure when Jennifer (Ivan's wife and finance manager) was going to sign up. We are glad to be a sponsor and have a lot of exciting things to talk about.

4 long days? my run is within a few miles of yours, and i do it in 3 by myself - about 16-18 hours each - i've done it in 2.5, but i had a co-driver and we ran over 20 hours before stopping - and all that is towing - it's about 48 hours of drive time for that 2800 miles if you are towing - less if you are in a car

in a car, i'd definitely make it in a bit over 2 days (heck, i've done the run in 36 hour, but that's another story for another day)

i was just think that maybe we could rendezvous somewhere in ohio or something

That would be cool. I'm leaving the morning of Apr 22. Was thinking 4 - 12 hour days. However, if there's a chance for a rendezvous that would be great. I could leave the night of the 21st, but that would be after a 12 hour day at work.
I'll have to look at a map and see if we can work that out.
