Brian, I'm a coupe kind of guy as far as Porsches go, so, I'll take the second one. Very, very nice.

I still have my 07 Mustang GT convertible in the garage when I want to go topless.

Hey, those are the 18" wheels that I use on my 968 in the summer months...and I love them. I painted them polar silver to match the body.

Just kidding, I just happen to like the "twists"

Twists, in 17", were on my car when I purchased it. One of my first mods was to replace them - I'm not a fan of twists, although lots of folks are.

anyone know if those front seats will fit into the 968?

OEM 944, 968 and 993 seats are interchangeable, right down to the wiring connections IIRC. Don't forget- late run 968's (94-95's) had 993 seats. Early 968's (92-93's) had 944 seats.

Beautiful.....
Beautiful 911 - The 993 and the 997 are my two favorite incarnations of this iconic car.
Agreed, the best of the 911 bunch.

I was prepping/detailing my 944S2 for selling and have been stalling for 4 months to put it on the market, and my wife had to take it on the school run. Its the first time she drove the car since I bought it 6 years ago. She came back grinning like shes just done something very illegal and can't stop telling our friends what an amazing car it is to drive on bends. Now she doesn't want me to sell, but instead build a garage big enough to house 3 cars!

Moral of the story: Dispite how fantastic the 944/968's are, when they have to go, make up your mind and act. If you hesitate, things get complicated.

Hey Duckman, what a great looking car. It looks to be in great condition as well.

Although I've always coveted a 911,since getting the 968 coupe my dream car is now a 968 cab, which in my opinion is the best look drop top out there. But who knows what the future holds?

I hope the purchase goes well and more pics when you get it home would be great.

UPDATE: PPI, including leak-down and compression test, completed by Midwest Performance Cars in Chicago. The car passed with flying colors. The only issue the wrench mentioned was the tires were a little over the hill. I had some new Sumitomos drop-shipped to him from Tire Rack, they are installed, and my new ride is waiting for me. OK, I'm excited now.

OK, guys. This'll be fun. I'm opening this up to suggestions for a personalized NC license plate for my '95 993. Before anyone else suggests it, I've already considered "95 993".

Go to it, fellas. Ladies, too.

How about:

9682933

933X968

NOTA968

Hmmm... guess I found myself fishing for an honorable mention for the 968. After all it does have the engine in the front where it belongs.... ... it does?

Hey Duckman,

Sorry to hear about your intention to sell your 968 but that 993 is beautiful!

I would recommend you keep it simple and use:

"HOT993"

"MY993"

"BEST993"

Let us know when you sell your 968 and who the new owner is. Good luck with the P car! See you in the future.

A little guidance would be helpful. How many letters are allowed? Do you want something that's potentially understandable to the general public, or just to the Porsche crowd? (For example, few outside the Porsche world would know what 993 signifies - and there are probably many inside that also wouldn't know.)

i have a different view on this - i look for the clever in plates - not impossible to solve riddles mind you, or things only the owner would know, but clever things nonetheless - that's exactly whey we don't have a custom plate for the M3 or the denali yet - i haven't some up with anything that isn't the obvious or mundane, or already taken

i would recommend anything BUT using "993" in the plate - obviously it's a 993, and why waste the characters on that? while i agree that the rest of the world wouldn't necessarily know the difference between a 964 and a 993, anybody looking at the car with interest probably would, and it only looks to those people like you lacked imagination if you use the obvious

maybe "AIRCULD"

There's a book recently released of vanity plates - many are not understandable at first, or second, or third glance.
