92-93 Technical Specifications Pocket book
#1

pors968 took the time to scan the 1993 968 Technical specifications pocket book. You can find the contribution in image format here:

http://www.968forums.com/index.php?act=mod...y&cmd=sc&cat=43

Or the PDF version here:

.pdf Pages_from_968TechSpecs_1of2.pdf Size: 1.85 MB  Downloads: 131

.pdf Pages_from_968TechSpecs_2of2.pdf Size: 1.72 MB  Downloads: 106

Pors968 is also working on a PDF version of the owners manual which will be available soon.

Everyone should thank pors968 for his efforts eventually we will get all of the 968 media ever produced uploaded for all to share. If you want to contribute to this effort send me a PM and I can go over the options. You do not have to be technically inclined to share. I will do the work if you have the hardcopy.

after browsing the info quickly...

is it true that the engine won't let you exceed the red line at 6700rpm?

i had no idea. if that's true, it would allow you to drive more aggressively and not have to mind the tach as much. i've never been bold enough to really push the red very hard. anyone else? racers perhaps?

Thanks PORS 968 - I love having Technical data on my 968. Any idea if there is a Service Info Tecknik book on the R4400 Tiptronic? Is there any resource to purchase these books?

brian - yes, the stock chip limits you to 6700 - the aftermarket chips have higher rev limits, ranging from 7100 to 7800 - some reading on the chip threads here will give you a lot of info - the chip i am running in my street car is the Racer X chip, which has a 7800 redline - i have been running it for a year and a half, shifting frequently at 7500 with no issues exibited - it's only up there for a second before i shift though

the bottom end is said to be good for over 8k - the valve train has not shown me any sign of issue with the revving i have done - there is some debate as to whether or nto the valve springs and lifters can sustain that level though

have fun - drive the car - these things don't even come alive until 6k, and they like it

disclaimer - please make sure the belts and other aspects of the car are up to the task

Flash,

You're having way too much fun for a human. You're getting close to where you might want to try some Ritalin before you blow your engine. Check your passenger seat for pee stains. I'm glad you're enjoying yourself. I'm still waiting to get to my rear deck window seal.

Just downloaded the Tech Info after figuring out how to overcome the download problem. This is a GREAT resource to have available here. Thanks for the time to make it available - belated post of notwithstanding.

True on mine, there is a limiter (thankfully) or I would have blown my engine.
