after browsing the info quickly...

is it true that the engine won't let you exceed the red line at 6700rpm?

i had no idea. if that's true, it would allow you to drive more aggressively and not have to mind the tach as much. i've never been bold enough to really push the red very hard. anyone else? racers perhaps?

brian - yes, the stock chip limits you to 6700 - the aftermarket chips have higher rev limits, ranging from 7100 to 7800 - some reading on the chip threads here will give you a lot of info - the chip i am running in my street car is the Racer X chip, which has a 7800 redline - i have been running it for a year and a half, shifting frequently at 7500 with no issues exibited - it's only up there for a second before i shift though



the bottom end is said to be good for over 8k - the valve train has not shown me any sign of issue with the revving i have done - there is some debate as to whether or nto the valve springs and lifters can sustain that level though



have fun - drive the car - these things don't even come alive until 6k, and they like it

True on mine, there is a limiter (thankfully) or I would have blown my engine.
