$ 52 million for a car

A. 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO just sold for $ 52 Million !! A new all time record paid for a car, and by a huge margin. Not even sure what else to say here other than..really ?! $ 52,000,000.00 ?

Well, I guess it can best be compared to a classic painting, in that the owner will never be able to "use" it, just stare at it and hopefully watch it go up in value even more. At least he can sit in it and make Ferrari exhaust noises...

When your talking about that type of disposable income, it sort of leaves mere mortals like us scratching our heads. But it's all relative. How many of us drop money into our cars while others look at is and say really!

I understand how collector items can become so expensive, but why that particular model/year has become the standard for iconic value mystifies me a bit...of course it's beautiful but how about something like (any one of these)......
