Registration opened today. Just a reminder for those racing NASA this season. Cost increases substantially as we get closer to Sept.....

I reserved a 20 x 40 space at Mid-Ohio's Paddock for the Nationals. I just got an e-mail asking me for a preference in terms of a particular spot that I may want or general area in the "upper or middle paddock" as well.
I have no idea as I have not made it there yet ,and further, do not know how they arrange it for Nationals.
Any suggestions on which spots and/or areas are best?
Thanks,

Most of the GTS guys paddock up in the grass to avoid the charge for paved parking. A few guys get there early and block out a large GTS section so we're all paddocked together. This system has worked great the past couple of years. In my opinion if you're going to pay for parking you might as well go all the way and reserve a garage. The garages hold two cars so you can split it between two guys. Being under cover in a garage can be worth it if the weather turns bad, but otherwise you'll feel like you're missing out on a lot of the GTS fun if you're paddocked anywhere other than the main GTS area.

Thanks Jim.
Covered garage would have been nice but they were just too much money for a rookie on a budget to be spending. Especially when there are so many more things the car could use.
I may then consider letting the reserved space(s) go and plan to join you guys at the GTS area on the grass. And hopefully it does not rain as I presume the grass turns into mud after a few drops....

I don't know about that because the only time I've ever paddocked in the grass is for Nationals, as that's the only time they charge for parking on the pavement. Fortunately there wasn't any rain for the 2006 and 2007 Nationals.
