1994 Black on Black Coupe 6 Speed
#1

I have been a gar guy most all of my life.  I have owned a MarkIII Supra turbo, 260Z, 300Z, several 240SX's (turbo and N/A), RX-7, Lexus SC400, Numerous trucks and a few family SUV's.  I have a 944 to LS1 project in the garage that will be my winter project and I just picked up the 968 a few weeks ago.

I got a really good deal on the 968 and couldn't pass it up as I have always loved the looks of them.  She has a few miles on the odometer at 205,000 but she runs great and has plenty of get up and go.  She is currently my daily driver when the weather is good otherwise I drive the SC400.

I joined up here to learn from fellow enthusiasts and owners about the car.  I absolutely LOVE to drive her!

I am in located in North Alabama in the Huntsville area.  Along with cars I am also a firearm enthusiast.  I love shooting and shooting sports (not much of a hunter though).  If you are in the area we should hit the range up sometime.  If you don't know a lot about shooting I would be more than happy to teach you.

I also try to visit the Dragon once a year or so.  I am about 4 hours away.

It's great to be on here and I hope to learn some new things and make some new friends.

Hi Boz!

Welcome to the forum!

My wife and I drove the dragon (northbound) summer 2015, after a road trip in the 968 to visit family in Georgia. That was the most fun trip we've had in the 968 so far, after 4 years of ownership.

Despite all the recommendations for timing and how to drive the tail of the dragon, we arrived around 2pm on a late June day, after a rain storm, sky opened up, sunny and warm and we were pretty much the only car on the road! it was unbelievable!

Cheers,

--Michael

Hi Boz,

I do some business with CEHNC and MDA. Perhaps I'll give you a call if I'm in the neighborhood.

MLB - The Dragon is a blast.  I have been up there several times in different vehicles and each time has been a blast.  I think so far the most fun I have had was my 2001 BMW 740i M-Sport.  For a big heavy car she was incredibly nimble and I had a great time.  If you ever get back that way drive the Cherohala Skyway as well.  It is a 50 mile run atop the Blue Ridge Mountains and connects to the Dragon.  Beautiful views!!

Bulti - Thank you!!

94SilverCab - Absolutely!  I would love to chat with a fellow enthusiast.  If you are up in Bucks County, I will send you a message next time I am up in Clarks Summit.  My daughter and grand-daughters live up that way and I go visit a few times a year.  I am thinking about a road trip in the 968 up that way.

Rap - Thank you!!

RAP is even closer to Clark's Summit than me, so we could all get together.
