Oh, my eyes! That thing is hideously ugly. No wonder he's offering $3500 for someone to haul it away :)

while i would love the idea of a flying buttress rear on this car, that is not the way i would have done it. they needed to go down with the window farther forward, and not have what looks like 8" of panel before it did.

I would love to see what a Design 1 Racing deck lid would look like.

About as ugly as it gets, which is a surprising considering that the Stosek rocker panels ( gravel guards / skirts ? ) or whatever those things are called look very well suited to the 968 . IMO. Many years ago I wanted to buy just those but only the entire kit was available.

Yeah Flash, let's see your design for a deck lid! I really do not mind the glass but it does let in a lot of heat in the summer.

I really like these rocker panels that Strosek made. So much smoother and more integrated than those damn rubber gaskets and slapped on panels.

Different strokes for different folks or one man's trash is another's treasure, just plan ole poor taste IMHO.

I meant to attach this photo. I want to be clear that I DO NOT like the rocker panels in the $3500 add. I like the panels on this car.

they look better in pictures than they do in person. love the idea, but the duct is a bit weird, and they stick out quite a bit along the door edge

I would probably look good even without the ducts.

lol - on the subject of the ducts, i like the idea of functional brake ducts there (not sure if those are or not. the ones on their yellow car were not), but i don't think the teardrop shape works with the lines of the car. i think it should be a larger and more rectangular opening.

My taste on the 968 is more oriented to a powerful and elegant GT car, almost like a Q-ship sleeper. Odd rocker panels and goofy panels won't improve the looks. They certainly won't help performance unless somebody is really racing at over 120 MPH -- few of us really do that, so there are no needed geegaws on the body. Porsche does a great job on aerodynamics in the first place -- most fiberglass bits will only degrade sound engineering (except the D1R splitter of course). The Del-Sol looks like a blend between a 914 and a 924 -- both are very good cars, but I can't say I recall the Del Sol merges them very well.

Number one for all of us (admittedly starting with me) for improving the car should be suspension; I got some yellow Konis without doing the homework for proper suspension -- would certainly have adopted something like Flash's formula if I had thought more about it.

The other number one ..... probably not applicable to most forum members. The time-tested advice on how to make your car faster --- go to performance driving school. Skip the screwy panels and exhaust tips from pep-boys, study a bit of physics and engineering -- which will go a long way to understanding how to operate a machine.

Agreed - personally, I think all of Strosek's stuff for the 968 looks tacky and just plain ugly.
