Porsche Museum
#1

I was just curious if anyone here has been to the new Porsche Museum.
I plan to make the trip to see it at some point but I am not sure when.

I think the latest issue of Excellence has some pictures of the complex. Not sure if that is the same place you're talking about tho.

Here you go......

And here are the two baddest Porsche production cars ever, as well as some real 968 content...well sort of.

Yep- the GT1 and the 959/961. My all-time favorites!

Even though the 959 may look dated to some and have an "older" interior, I'd kill to have one. That car was my high school dream, forget the Countach (that's a POS)!

Thanks for the photos!

Biotechee,

There is a 959 in the showroom at Princeton Porsche, I was a hair's breadth away from it on Saturday.

Despite it being red and not Polar Silver (which we know is the fastest color), I wouldn't mind driving it.

Regards,

Jay

Just may have to drive over there and have a look-see. I've never seen one "in person". I'll have to practice my restraint efforts before I go...

Perhaps I can lick the hood like it was the last cookie so that no one else can have it?? Do you think they would buy it?!

OK, I would trade my 968 for that...if it has a sunroof!

great photos. have to agree with Bio.. the 959 over a Countach any day, any time. not only is it ridiculously faster
( hell, the Countach is not all THAT much quicker than our 968s for that matter - look up the 0-60 and the Q-mile times, you'd be surprised ..) but the 959 is also not as blatant of a look-at-what-I'm-driving! car..

I dont think the S (sport) models did. The standard 959 (which was actually more expensive) did have a sunroof along with auto-adjusting suspension, a passenger sideview mirror, leather, and a few other goodies.
