WTB: Protective Under Engine Sheetmetal
#1

My car is missing the under engine protective sheetmetal. If someone has removed theirs to make the car lighter, make oil changes easier, or whatever, I am interested in purchasing it along with any related brackets, etc.

Thanks,

Charlie

Hey Charlie, this is the second tray that apparently only the '92's have. Gene gave me a heads up on this.

Try 20th Street Auto, they almost always have had any part I needed...

I believe Sunset has a reasonable price on these ($75-80 IIRC)

I'd like to see someone create a true skid plate for our cars to protect the oil sump which protrudes below the front cross member. A couple of 944s at the Thunderhill 25 hour blew their engines after cracking their oil pans after going over some curbing. Engines don't run very long with no oil. It may be harder to do on the street but still possible.

I'm not sure what this pan protects but it looks like it mounts behind and around the sump.

Thanks, Dave. I saw that listing but wasn't sure if it was what I was looking for. I gather there is a second piece as well. I guess I should look in my PET and see exactly what I need.
