And maybe it's my old(er) age. But, liking the 968 as I do, I can't get into the multiple, and conflicting, accent lines. As they say, different strokes... No one of us is right or wrong - the marketplace makes that determination.

i also cannot stand the hard edges and such - maybe it is an age thing

i thought they were really starting to go somewhere when the widened the hips of the Z3 - if they just would have fixed the nose - that is what i was hoping for with the Z4 - then they made another bangle bungle instead

to me, this is another polished turd, just like the hardtop version

the car wouldn't be too bad if they got rid of all that nonsense on the sides, and got rid of the goofy trunk lid

yup - good thing too - i like having a fairly exclusive car - i'd be pretty bummed if all i could get was a honda/acura/toyota (insert your econobox design here)

To much stuff going on with all the lines of that car, reminds me of the RX-8 in regards to conflicting body lines. No thanks. I just can't get into Bangle's designs.

yes - many cars popping up like that lately - not sure where somebody got the idea that it was attractive, but everybody sure seems to be trying to keep up - reminds me of that cougar they came out with a few years ago - that car was absolutely ridiculed - you would think they would pass the designs across some general public before going forward, and not just limit themselves to the design team's impressions, but it sure doesn't seem to be that way

I'm young-ish (approaching 30) and I . . . can't . . . stand . . . what BMW has been doing with their model line. I think they look like bloated Infinitis. Ugh.

I don't like the big sculpted body panels -- fast, refined, crisp sporty cars should look that way.

Contrast with what I think is one of the most beautiful cars out there, the mid -to-late 90's 740 series. . . what are they thinking??!?!

I like the understated aspect of the 968. And I LOVE the styling on the Turbo. Now THAT'S aggressive styling done properly.

I'm going to have to go with the majority on this one. It's hard top believe that the same company that produced what has to be one of the most gorgeous cars of all time (the Z8) could turn out something that's such a discordant cacophony of colliding angles and lines is beyond me. But again, there's no right or wrong here, just opinion.

I share Cloud..968's thoughts on this. Z8 - stunning ! All other Zs - FUGLY.

But still not as butt-ugly as the Lotus Elise. WTF were they thinking ?! Did Bangle design that one also ?

I'm with the choice of the earlier 740i. And, then there's the older, but still-gorgeous, 630 and M6 - thankfully, they didn't come in convertible versions, otherwise I'd have to have one. Contrast those to the new 6-series convertible, which even my wife thought was a Solara.

When I first saw the Elise in pictures, I also thought it was pretty unattractive, but after seeing it in person, it's actually growing on me. Or maybe it's the car's singular, uncompromising sports car nature that endears it to me, because I think the world's a better place since the Elise came on the stage.

that's probably it... that mind boggling performance could easily make one forgive the way-over-the-top lines of the car... or even rationalize them in a way where they match the car's purpose - which is to have a 190 hp toy effortlessly keep up with 400+ hp muscle super-sports cars. Hats off to that.
