Sorry you had that experience, Bob, but I'm quite sure it's atypical. I manage 5 Macs in this household. They all stay on for weeks on end, requiring restarts only after major system software upgrades and some software installs.

I use both MACs and PCs - all of mine are stable no matter the OS. I have PCs running on Microsoft NT4, 2000, XP, 2003 as well as IBM's OS2 and they are as stable as my MACs and more stable than my Linux boxes. My old Apple IIe and IBM PC are still running as well. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
