Windshied Wipers
#1

Is there anything that commonly happens to wipers? I haven't used them in, well I can't even for sure say, since I checked the car out when I bought it. It isn't the fuse, beyond that is there a relay just for the wipers? If so, is it one I could move from somewhere else in a pinch? Admittedly I haven't spent much time trying to diagnose the failure, but I was about to head up to the mountains and turned them on to test, just in case it starts raining. I don't want it let me spoil the day.

Yes, there is a relay that sometimes fails. Look under the fuse box lid for its location.

Sometimes the connectors just need to be cleaned (if you are lucky).

If that does work, I would clean the the rest of the relay pins (one at a time so you do not get confused).

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. I need to get a new sticker for my fuse box. It came loose and I taped it back on, but that basically ruined the text on much of it. I drove something else yesterday but it didn't rain, so I would have been fine. Where are all the 968 guys hanging out now. 968.net used to have a lot of activity. this site is good, but no one is ever on it, or so it seems. The Rennlist 968 forum has some traffic. Are 968 guys going to 6 speed, or is there another forum I'm not aware of? The 944 forum has tons of guys, but mostly a much younger set it seems. I know there aren't many 968s comparitively, but it used to be a very vocal crowd.

not sure what you mean - it has changed a lot, but the activity level is still very good - it's just that they're pretty much all here now - lots of activity here though - we have averaged about 55 posts a day since december, and it has increased along the way - there are about 3 times the number of members here that were ever on .net which died a while ago, so by comparison, we are now bigger than .net ever was

Here's a copy of the fuse box decal. Perhaps this will help.
