Blind wires (both ends unknown) are ones to be cautious of. Wires where one end is known - and going nowhere - are safe. Sure, you want to be cautious about causing a short during the cutting process, but beyond that - there is no risk. The alternative - tracing back to who knows where - simply isn't worth the effort.

Thanks for the advices. After being ill for weekend, I'm back on track again, and will check where would the wires go, if it's easily seen. If you don't hear anything from me later this week, I'm propably burned with my car, from cutting the wires.

Please don't suffer such a fate - you're too far away for us to easily part your car.

Maybe you should disconnect the battery before you cut through the cable. If you cut through a hot line it makes very pretty sparks, don't ask me how I know.

I was seeing today one other former 968 owner, and we discussed this issue with him. He thought It might be smth related to alarm systems.. and surely it was. I don't think I'll cut the wire, because it might mess up the car alarm.
