Thanks for looking. Seriously...viewing this site on an iPad is difficult at best. Seems like the pages don't reformat to the iPad's limited real-estate. Any tips would be helpful.

unfortunately the iphone/ipad version is not the same as the regular one, and i doubt it ever will be. they continually tweak things to try to get them to be the same, but it is my understanding that it will never be the same, as the device itself has limitations that a desktop system or laptop does not. the ipad is not designed to replace a real computer. it's a cool toy, and can be very useful, but has its limits. the screen size and resolution is a big problem, and website information is consequently not always translated well. i had an ipad and returned it because of things like this. my eyes are just too old to see that tiny stuff. i can't use the internet on the iphone very well either for the same reason. emergency use only.

While I understand an old relic like you might have difficulty reading the print on an iPhone, did you know you can enlarge the page merely by unpinching your finger? Better on the iPad than iPhone. I keep taking my glasses off and on with my desktop. I do agree though that the applications are different between the iPad and desktop. I don't use a laptop or computer at home anymore. But I only use a desktop at work. Merely different applications and uses. I also have no problem with the iPad on this site.perhaps you need a heartier red!

lol - yeah - that's a huge pain in the butt if you actually want to read something. ever since i learned to speed read, i read at least a paragraph at a time, and sometimes the entire page at once. the constant scrolling is a major pain. i just lose my place too often having to constantly scroll around. i really need it all up there at once, and big enough to read. that's the one complaint i have about the new imac i have. while the monitor is huge, and the image is crystal clear, the resolution got so small that i can't read anything without my glasses. if i change it to smaller, weird stuff happens. i liked my dual monitor setup better.



it's ok. soon enough i'll be off of computers and the like altogether and done with this techno-nonsense. i can't wait. i'm getting pretty close to being able to do without them now. i've already gotten off of my cell phone almost entirely. i haven't fired up the laptop in months, and the other machines in more than that. i'm down to about an hour a day on this machine. it's getting close.

nope - getting off the electronic stuff altogether. not a lot of need anymore. i'm finally getting back to pencil and paper and the phone. i'm finding that i get a lot more done now that i have chosen to curtail the dependence on the electronics. wasn't nearly as hard as the marketing guys would make you think either.



next is the tv. weaning myself off of it already. it only gets turned on now when my wife wants it on, and she's only home a couple of hours before we knock off for the night.

Well I understand the tv, Liz likes to watch it and I'd rather read so I allocate tv time. Or so she says. Since she's not able to properly use the clicker, stays on one show, gender thing, I still am unable to find good fare to watch. How do you do contracts and proposals? Courier? I'm a pencil and paper guy myself but boy that beggars belief.

lol - yeah. i pretty much watch in 5 to 10 minute spurts. flip it on for a distraction while i grab a sandwich at lunch, and then shut it off. 10 minutes tops. other than that it's only when she insists that i sit there with her and watch something, but i have been able to get out of most of that. i'm down to about 4 shows a week, and since we have a dvr, most of the time i get to knock that out all at once.



i am trying not to do any more proposals. at this point my clientele don't require it. they just tell me to do what i think is best and send them the bill. pretty much all of the rest of the paperwork and such i hire people to do. i'm really trying to get away from the details and that inherently means less time in front of the computer.

true enough. i found the solution to be in taking on fewer projects and thereby having fewer details to worry about. if i play my cards right, and manage to complete the things i have on the books now, i'll be retired in 2 years, or at least only doing those things that i want to do. i'm almost there now, but i still have to deal with a little more than i'd like. my hope and goal is to permanently disconnect my cell phone and throw away my computer at that point.

lol - yeah, i figure i'll be done with everything by then. i doubt there will be a lot of 968 interest that has not already been addressed by that time, and if there is, i'll likely have somebody else handling it.



retiring early - ha - i had my first business with employees by the time i was 12. almost all of my life i don't sleep more than about 5 hours, and the rest of the time i'm working. i figure that entitles me to knock off earlier, and while i can still enjoy it.
