Who else loves watches?
#1

I've determined that I am a little crazy about watches! Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you view it!), I don't have the wherewithall to collect the ones I want!

At the moment, I have the following:

Omega Seamaster Professional Vancouver Olympics LE (very rarely worn)

Boschett Cave Dweller (daily duty)

Orient Mako (haven't worn it in awhile)

I've been dying for another Omega (new Aqua Terra GMT Chrono), but it is way too pricey at the moment. I could sell my SMP, but I don't want to let that one go...

Got my wife an Omega Ladies SMP Quartz 2 years ago and she loves it. Best watch she's ever owned.

I've recently come to appreciate JLC and Glashutte watches. Incredible construction and timeless design.

My grandparents had an old Omega Connie that I was always fascinated by...

I could go on and on!

My daily driver, when it comes to watches is a Seiko World Timer. I also have Bulova Oceanographer that I wore during my military service. It is need of a good cleaning and overhaul. And lastly I own a George Dueber pocket watch in a gold hunter case. The watch dates from 1895 runs perfectly and I occasionally use it.

My DD is a Raymond Weil Stick Watch (popular with the Architects who I rub elbows with all day).

I have a two tone Omega Seamaster (currently being fixed AGAIN)

My "dress up" watch is a Corum UBS gold ingot

My cool to look at, but not terribly expensive watch is a Seiko 6309 Automatic I use for diving (1970 era, this watch was made in Japan, a hit with the folks from the Poor Man's Watch Forum).

Either of you familiar with Seiko's spring drive? Supposedly an incredible auto movement... Seikos, in general, are an incredible watch for the money, IMHO.

Pocket watches are very interesting to me! My one grandfather was handed down a pocket watch from his father who worked on the railroads. I believe my father has it at the moment (last I heard).

I'll be getting a book soon on watchmaking. Would like to learn about what makes a watch tick! I may have to sacrifice the Orient in the interests of education!

My job-provided Blackberry, my cell phone, computer monitor's time display, and clocks on various walls give me all the reminders of what time it is that my heart could ever desire. I like to travel light, so nothing on my wrist, around my neck, etc.

Well, they're all still running. Many fine tourbillons and flybacks, in various stages of knock-off <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/blush.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

There are many moderately priced watches that are well constructed and within reach. I have a friend who sells watches and got annoyed by the shenanigans pulled by watch companies with price and availability as a distributor. So he designed and started his own line,Montrek. Over the years I have been fortunate to be able to purchase many watches at very reasonable prices.

Is that enough? There is never too much horsepower, too many watches or too much se... well you get the idea. Anyway, I actually have a couple more watches beyond the three mentioned earlier. They are a couple of ultra thin Seiko's that I have some very nice southwest American Indian silver and turquoise watch bands attached to.

Traded my Audemars Piguet Nick Faldo for the Corum and Omega (with my Brother). I think we both feel like we made out.

I have a few "fun" watches also....

So does the Polex ( you can only see the P with a magnifying glass, to the naked eye it's an R ) I bought near Times Square from an exclusive purveyor of fine jewelry does not make the same league with the Pateks and Vacherons and Audemars of this world ?

At the risk of sounding like an arrogant ass, which is not my intent, who here spends time either the nite before or that morning figuring which watch to wear?
