Where is my twin brother?
#1

When I wash and polish my Amethyst Dazzler I often think about where my "twin brother" is. Let me explain. The Amethyst Metallic color was only readily available to order in the 92-93 and early ' 94 year (The famous 718 edition. A re-vinned '93). Apparently only 2 "truel" (late 94) models where ordered (C2S) in this color. My twin Brother is a coupe that was last reported residing in Florida....And yes I know that you have seen 94 models in this color but they are all, except for two, 93 re-vinned 718 cars. The total number of all years in this color is 22 (F9/L38A).........What's really amazing is that only 6 cars of  the 1994 vintage was special orders (C2S)

..............So where are you my Amethyst Coupe brother?...part of this great gang?

I would love to hear from you.

Interesting question Kaj.

So here’s another similar situation I just came upon.

My brother-in-law saw a 968 cab in western Washington last week that he says is Violet Blue.

According to records (thank you Jeff) there was only one Violet Blue cab made, and Carfax shows it residing in Maryland somewhere which is waaaaayyy across the country from western WA.

Jeff did note that there is a rumor that one of the Paint to Sample cabs was Violet Blue, but I guess that’s not confirmed.

So, assuming the car my BIL saw was indeed Violet Blue, what car did he see, the Paint to Sample Cab?

That would be a good car to track down for its VIN to find out what car it is. Maybe a rare signting.
