roflmao - i wondered how long it would take for one of the RL blowhards to pipe in with their crap.  "a few upgrades"  try danged near every nut and bolt changed.  almost every single aspect of the car has been improved and updated.  i figure he's just bent because nobody wants his barbie car.  that's fine.  there are always sour grapes

"There is absolutely nothing special about that car to command that sort of cash. If anything, it has been used as a test mule to "develop" products. Not sure how anyone can expect that kind of cash for such a common colored car with a few upgrades." I wonder how this particularly stupid comment would go if it were reiterated about his Fake Turbo S? You know, the one that burned to the ground. Pretty funny that he didn't insert himself into the whole "Salvage Title" discussion over there, but he couldn't help chiming in on Flash's sale.

I laughed so hard I almost wet myself...forgive me if I don't fall on the alter of Jelly Bean cars and instead appreciate the unbelievable number of hours and dollars that went into this perfect beast.

I think if he had driven Flash's car, he might have had a different opinion of it.. from a distance, and just from partial, sketchy or untrue information and hearsay it's absurd to think that one can form an objective opinion about the car's value.. as for the "common color" remark, that's just silly - midnight blue is by far the most elegant / classiest color Porsche has ever produced, and I'd think the target buyer for this car is likely a sophisticated individual who appreciates all of the attributes the vehicle offers yet "cloaked" in a dignified and subtle exterior.. much more so than buying an attention-grabber colored Porsche.  Sure, on the general market bright color 968s may command a more money ( speed yellow, riviera blue, etc ), but none of those have anyway near the features of flash's car so it's a moot point.

I drove it once before the interior mods and although I was constrained by traffic yowza! Everyone has an opinion just like an asshole. I try not to listen to or be around them. We all have better things to do than listen to pettiness, jealousy and just plain stupidness. Bob will get his price and the new owner will walk around with one of those shit eating grins and a bounce to his step!

lol - yeah - probably something along those lines.  i'm not desperate to sell it fast.  i even have a storage location if it takes too long.  so, it's not like i'm going to give it away if it doesn't sell in a month.  still, i want closure, and i've already written off the development costs, so i'm not all that price sensitive.  somebody is going to catch me on the right day, make me an offer, and it's going to go away for a lot less than if they wanted to build it themselves.

I know about the 968 but not its perceived value, which is apparently underrated... I saw a 2002 BMW Z8 that went for $165,000 at auction, and I thought "you must be kidding".

I  noticed that you'd ended your posting on e-bay... just curious.

it was only up for a week.  it's going back up.  hard to tell what duration is best, as nobody bids on any auction until the last hour.

A  specialty car like yours needs finding the right market, wish I had a good suggestion.

no worries.  i have no fear that it will sell at some point.  i'm not really all that concerned.  i may even donate it, since i can declare the value.  all i would have to do is take out an insurance policy with a declared value, and then submit that document.

i'm just to the point where i want it gone.  the love is gone.  time to get rid of the girlfriend.

That's a great idea, they have been raffling off the Strosek 968 cab for about 10 years now !
