I received this at my work email address ( which is not the email on my profile btw ). I have no clue what this is about, but wondering if anyone else received similar transmittals ??

There are rumblings that something may happen to your car.

And if so, I'm curious what happen[?]. However I understand if you'd rather not discuss it - that's cool too.

I know I'd be really upset if something happen to my car, but of course the main thing is that no one was injured.

the sender's email seems to indicate a 968 owner, ( " initials_968@ yahoo.." ) but not sure if it's real or fake .

I think it might have been sent to the wrong 968 owner. Someone in SoCal did recently get into an accident -- but and it might just be the case of a mistaken identify....

seems like that's the most plausible explanation ( email misdirected to another, "similarly initialed" 968-er ) I'm sure Pete will reply to my return email to confirm, but it's gotta be it. PHEW !



as for the mystery of why and how this was sent to my work email, which I could have sworn was not in any of my forums profiles...when I had to re-register for .net, after I switched PCs and it would not allow me to log in under the previous profile, it must have also rejected the original email and promted me to use a new one.. that must be it, and I had just completely forgotten. damn, old age !

apologies Pete, indeed a short memory; I sincerely do not recall using my work email for 968 profiles, the correspondence with you ( really thought the email exchange was from my home address ) or anyone else for that matter, from work .



as for flying off the handle, with all the spam, weird emails, and hijacking of user names for fake posts that has been going on on .net , not sure I overreacted that much.. may be a little. still.. sorry.
