Have a '92 968 with what I assume is the stock air bag steering wheel. For some reason the turn signals won't turn off (either direction). I know the car had a three spoke steering wheel on it for a while. Haven't been into this area of my car yet. Any hints on what's wrong?

You mean they don't "cancel" after a turn?

Yes, they won't cancel after using them for either a right or left hand turn.

The little plastic piece that cancels the turn signals is easy to break when installing a steering wheel (ask me how I know!). I have the part - it mounts on the column, not on the wheel - currently on the way from Sunset. Part number is
928-652-104-00 $17.14 ea.

Thanks, looks like I'll be ordering one of those. Living in the same town as Sunset has been convenient, and I like the good deal they give us on prices.
Any issues in pulling the airbag. Is it the usual remove the battery ground and wait 5 minutes, then proceed with removal?

Not sure how long to unhook the battery before removing the airbag. I've heard 30 mins. but I left it for a couple hours just to be on the safe side. It came out real easy - just two allen bolts on either side of the wheel.
Yes, Sunset has been awesome. Fantastic service
and the best prices.

Thanks for posting the part number Austin....this part is available separately from the turn signal stalk, huh? I never thought to look.....I don't need a new stalk I guess...ironically enough, I think I have one extra anyway and the parts car still has the entire stock as well.

For some reason I can't find the drawing that shows the part in the PET - I found it before, that's how I knew what part number to order. Hmm. Anyway, it's a small plastic part that mounts to the flat area of the steering column between the column and the wheel.
The package from Sunset arrived last night. I'll snap a pic of the part tonight and post it here.

This is what I got from Sunset:
The part number (928-652-104-00) is correct for what I ordered, but I'm not sure if this is this is the part I need. My hazy memory seems to think the part I broke (I didn't know anything was amiss until everything was back together and the turn signal wasn't canceling) is smaller and is white plastic.
Going to have to take the steering wheel off and take a look.

I could be wrong, but I think the part that breaks is integral to the stalk assembly and is not a separate part. I remember an old trick from 944 owners who would wrap black electrical tape around the little tabs that break to make them work again as a quickie fix. I don't think the part above has anything to do with the turn signal cancel function. Let me see if I can dig out my spare stalk over the weekend.

Tama....yup pretty sure that's the case as well, but this thread has peaked my interest. I'm pretty sure there is a little plastic tab that breaks off on the "inner circle" and is not a replaceable part. I didn't have a chance to check today, but should have some time around the shop tomorrow.

When reinstalling my steering wheel I remember feeling/hearing something snap, but couldn't tell if anything was broken, so resumed putting the wheel back on. Later I discovered a small (1/4" or so) piece of plastic on the carpet, but wasn't sure what it was or if it was what I had just broken. Damn, I should have kept that little piece and superglued it back on!
Yeah the part I bought looks like the electrical contact piece for the horn/airbag. I guess I'll by trying the electrical tape fix before I source a whole new or used stalk assembly.
