Traqmate/Chasecam install location
#1

So anyone have the Traqmate and/or Chasecam setup?
As I just picked up the new car, moving things from one car to the other looking for ideas where to install both of these.
Was thinking the Traqmate and Traqdata II would fit inside the center arm rest.
Here is what I did for the 911, installed it between the seats just behind the heater controls.

No Chasecam in my setup but the Traqmate and Traqdata do fit nicely inside the center arm rest. The display is between the steering wheel and the gauges. I made a sheet metal bracket that mounts to the plastic cover over the stalks and used the top two screws to fix it in place. I can get some pictures tomorrow if you are interested in the details.

Mike,
Thanks, yes the PO did have some other system originally and is a plate that is mounted through the vents by the gage cluster. But would be interested in seeing pictures.
Thanks

OK, the pictures are in the Trackmate Album

First is a shot of the display side. The parts were all cut from the same gauge material so the gap for the female "pin" is the same as the material thickness. Fitting may be required.

Two shots of the fixed bracket show the configuration and the attachment. I covered it with a non reflective black vynl material from Michaels.

Final shots are of the display mounted and a concept photo of the mount with a shift light. I'm still debating this. Without the shift light I can see the important numbers on the tach and speedo. The speedo is not as important as I only look at it at track out to see if I'm consistent/improving/neither.

Mike, thanks, for some reason when I click on the link, it says some issue with permissions, so either I can't get to it because I'm yet a rooke on the forum or maybe you haven't unlocked it for the public.
Been looking at a few cars up here at Road America this weekend, and some have them in the arm rest, some just behind on the hump, couldn't tell how the have them secured down, but sure I will figure something out.
Thanks

I just velcro the main unit to the tray in the arm rest. Working on the album problem.

The pics should now appear in the earlier post.
