Transaxle noises
#1

I'm a new 968 owner, and I have a couple of questions about noises coming from the transaxle. Maybe they're normal, maybe not. I have to ask cuz I don't know.

1. When shifting into first (which is almost always from a complete stop), I hear and feel a very slight clunk from the tranny. It's almost imperceptible, but it's there. It only happens about a quarter of the time. What is it? Is it bad?

2. When reversing or pulling away first thing in the morning, I hear something funny from the transaxle. It's a difficult noise to describe. Sounds like flywheel chatter or something. Kinda the sound of a dragging brake pad, but not coming from a wheel. It lasts just a couple of seconds, then I don't hear it the rest of the day.

Any ideas? I can try to explain better if it sounds like I'm talking nonsense. Thanks in advance.

no idea about 1 ( torque tube ? )

2, as described, " chatter or dragging brake pad " could be the normal sound ABS makes at that initial point , but if you're sure it's not coming from a wheel, then not sure what else it migh tbe

I second the ABS as the second noise, but don't know about the clunk.
