as a part of regular maintenance i do on the site, i was led to a review of the access report - in the last 5 days, the access report was 18,761 pages long (no kidding) - each page has about 15 hits on it - each page access counts as a hit - that means that there have been 281,000 pages accessed on the site in the last 5 days - that's over 56,000 views of pages a day, or 2345 views per hour, or 39 views per minute

Just a note. As an IT administrator if you look at the IP's and the sources for the hits you may find a lot of the traffic will be attempted hacks and bots looking to scan the web site or add advertising automatically. Legitimate traffic may be a lot lower than you think <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

understood - i have filters for a LOT of those IPs - i was looking at the numbers of access to pages other than the front page - you can't get to the others without membership
