I am looking forward to a PDF file on belt changing and I don't want to slow the project down, but the 3 year age limit on being time to change the belts? Do we have any statistics or word from the belt manufactures to help us on the age limit on belts?

we have a rather healthy list of those who pushed past it and broke them, even with low mileage on them. would that do?

Is there any chance of an addendum for SC owners indicating what we have to remove (and in what order)?

Just checking in to see how the DIY is coming along.

Is the PDF going to be printable or is it a 50+ page beast?

Thanks!

there has been some very time consuming drama in my life lately, from multiple fronts, and it is taking a bit to get clear of it. i have been ticking things off of the list, but it is slow going. i hope to get back on this next week and get it wrapped up.

I've never heard 3 years as a limit, usually it has been 5 years.

Sorry to hear flash, hope you get dis-entangled. Don't tell me, the lead singer chick was sleeping with the guitar player and the bass player found out about it and kicked her square in the keester on-stage right in the middle of the second set?

Oh wait, that was my drama, just many years ago. Ah, youth. Thank God I was the drummer and just got to watch the fireworks.

Since I've got some time off over the holidays I thought I'd tackle replacing the belts on my car since I haven't gotten around to it yet. Before I start in on that I thought I'd check-in here and see where this is sitting amognst all the other (cool) things you have going on. Any thoughts on an ETA for this guide?

I'm not close on miles, but overdue on time. I better belt up. Hopefully I'll feel confident in tackling this myself after looking over the epic DIY.

Flash, for non-pro mechanics with more-or-less average intelligence and wrenching ability such as myself, what do you think - can we handle the job?

If I can do it with zero issues (other than trapping my shop light cord in the fan assembly!), anybody can.

yeah - the belt job itself is pretty straight forward, with only a couple of things to look out for.

timing the cams is a bit more involved, but again, not rocket science.
