the simple things
#1

while out and about running errands and checking out a venue for an event, i popped over to snatch up the white cab, as i had plans to tinker with it a bit, give it a once over, and run some tests over the next day or so

every time i drive this car i am just stunned at how nice it is - it's a bone stock tip with 17s and all 3 braces, but that's it - granted it only has 15k on it, and it's tight as all get out, but no hot rod mods - no chip - no airbox - no exhaust - no big suspension stuff (just hatchback front springs) - nada

I LOVE THIS CAR!

sometimes it's the simple things

And a conversion to Tiptronic, then maybe a mod to hold his walker securely in the trunk.

Should we hold an intervention or skip that and have him committed straight away?

Since dibs are being called on various things, I'll take dibs on his windscreen and boot cover- I can imagine they are in top shape!

funny stuff - i must be getting old

seriously though, the road i took it on last night was a big open sweeper - as i was getting onto the road, the entrance was a nice fairly tight S - i stabbed the throttle, she dropped down into second - i just stayed in it and held the line - then i got onto the main road and popped it up to about 100 and let 'er rip - solid and planted - the chassis was rock solid, with no scuttle shake, wiggle or vibration - the 17s soaked up everything in the road, while giving me a firm planted feel

i couldn't have been happier - yes my car is faster and handles better - but, this one is a pleasure to drive, and a lot easier

i think i'll keep both - yup yup - have my cake and eat it too

can't wait to build the race car though

I think most of us feel that way every time we take our babies out. Surprised that the lack of a clutch didn't dampen the experience for you. Every sports car I've driven w/o a manual trans, caused me to make the same statement "would've been better with proper gear box".

if i were in a twisty canyon or something, it would have been an issue - but, this was a big sweeping road - no need to shift, so gearbox not an issue

well, i did upgrade that part - that stock deck had to go - total junk - i would have left the paper cone speakers if they were there - not a thing wrong with those - but, that's a whole different discussion
