PCA E stock tire size and suspension advice
#1

In stock E class for a 968 the wheel width is 8.5 in front and 10 in rear.

I have been running 245x35x18 front and 285x30x18 rear.

I have noticed larger tire sizes on some 944 turbo, S2, and 968s.

Are others running 255x35x18 front with 285x30x18 rears?

I am still getting some excess outside tire wear on my L front at Roebling Road with my front camber set at L -3.5 degress, R -3.2 degrees.

I am running 800 lb front springs and 1000 lb rear springs with Leda shocks, no rear torsion bar (reduced to 5).

So I've been told to go to a larger front tire, add neg camber at front, reduce spring weights.

Any thoughts?

thanks

Dave,

I pretty much have the same setup, 8.5 245x18 & 10 285x18, 1000lbs springs and Ledas all around, and the same camber -3.5F -3.2R and was experiencing the same front tire issue. Now what I did try and think it helped but can't really confirmed as I didn't have a full weekend. But what I did was reduce the rear camber to -2.7 and changed the rear sway bar to one whole stiffer.

This really helped the car rotate better in the corners, I was also faster. Now warning you have to get use to it as it was looser. I wouldn't say that lead to the end of my season, that was me being stupid and not letting things warm up. When I get the new car back together the only thing I was going to change was put 900lbs springs up front and put the sway bar back to the middle.

There are some pretty good cheat sheets out there, just google racing setup guide, but here is just one of them that I used I have others but can't find them right now:
