The problem with OCD
#1

And I mean as in MY obsessive compulsive disorder :-(. So while returning yesterday from a five day trip to Cabo San Lucas, waiting in the US Customs line I spotted some dude carrying a vintage Grand Prix travel bag ( vintage as in the Steve McQueen - Gulf / Porsche era driver's bag ). And the immediate thought that came to my mind was : gotta have that bag, it's just too cool to pass up. Now, it's not as if I need another travel bag ; at last count I have eleven of them in various shapes and sizes, four from Louis Vuitton , others by Tumi, and Hartman, and Porsche / Martini racing , and Brics and JP Tods, and a couple more including a customized bag I bought in London for an incredibly stupid-expensive price I now regret because it's still unused ten years later.. Ugh. So as I said, why TF would I need or want another bag ? OCD, that's why. So within an hour after I got home, I ordered one of those GP bags . Apparently I'm not the only one with an eye for it, they're sold out everywhere with no further stock expected , but for one place in England where they still have a back order committed from the manufacturer, so my order is on the wait list. Pics below - question is which side do you hold out, the vertical zipper pocket or the horizontal zipper pocket one ?

The zipper side of course. What is that a trick question? You could even put something non consequential in to draw attention to it. The old neat factor. This is one sharp looking bag by the way. Did you get it because of your place in life? Sorry. Glad to see there are others who buy stuff for the same reasons as me. I bought another sweater jacket from north face while Xmass shopping the other day. I need another sweater like I need a another hole in the head. I already have a groaning shelf full I don't wear. But it was cooool looking and I didn't have one like it.

By the way it's not OCD. It's INI. I need it!!!!

Lol, RAP, you glanced too quickly at that question ; I mentioned that both sides have zippers , one horizontal , the other vertical . The vertical one in the lower photo does not show as clearly though, but it's there. Hmm INI is a good term for the distorter as well. Or ININ - I need it now !

Bite me. :-)

You too, Trevor :-)

If it's good enough for Steve McQueen ( coolest dude ever, maybe tied with James Coburn..) it's good enough for me , lol.

Look if Dan wants to carry an oversized cool purse because a movie star did don't mock him. Accept him, don't pity him and realize that he just can't help himself!

Where did you get the gloves. I like them.

Look at the pic you posted. I love gloves. Choose a different one everyday. Though to be honest Dan I don't match them to my shoes!

I know, but you asked where I got those gloves ..that's the website's ad photo of the bag , it's not a selfie with me carrying it and wearing the driving gloves, lol - remember I posted that I have just placed an order but the bag is still our of stock ? Hell, I may have to wait longer for that bag than flash has to wait for his 911 targa customization, lol.

That aside, I have one pair of driving gloves, a gift from many years ago, and I think I worn them only once.

If it's really cold out perhaps you can get away with that, but when the temps are in the 70s ( brrrr, California winters are brutal ) you can come across as a bit of a douchebag wearing those...even if you do step out of a Ferrari at the time. But I lived in Cleveland for nine years, so gloves to hold that frozen steering wheel were a must, at least until the cabin warmed up. You probably like the one in the first photo, and it would go with your two-tone shoes , even though you did say you're not matching that... :-) it would also work well with the 968s two tone cashmere & black interiors .

And below it a glove which I recommend everyone who lives in Arizona or Palm Springs ,Ca should wear when driving in the summer :

lol - so true. I lived in Phoenix for 11 years, and in the summer, the steering wheel could give you third degree burns!

cloud - precisely why i don't want a wood steering wheel. black is bad enough. wood is just plain painful.

those two tone gloves would go perfectly with my two tone black/cashmere interior. i'm shocked you never pointed them out to me before.

I like those also, might be worth buying just for those rare occasions when I drive up to Tahoe in the winter. But I have no idea where to find them . I guess just type in " two tone driving gloves " in the search engine and see what comes up.
