The New Dodge Charger
#1

I am not really into American Muscle, however the new Charger is hot. Even though my Father is a Corvette fanatic. I saw one on the road for the first time yesterday. I was like what the heck is that? cought up to the car to check it out and the exterior looks great. I went online and the models get even better the R/T and SRT look damn hot! 425bhp!!! Very cool to see the retro Muscle car classics making a strong come back with fresh designs of the past.

I really like the look...too bad it only comes with automatic transmission. The 350bhp standard and optional 425bhp is nice too but it takes alot ponies to move ~4000lbs.

Auto only.. where is the stick was my first thought too. Also you are right pretty heavy SOB... They say low 5's in th 0-60 with the SRT package... You know those cars have room to "GO BIG" when it comes to additional HP forgotten at that factory.

wow! talk about different points of view

i couldn't hate the looks of that car much more - but, i guess that's why we have so many different looking cars out there

keep in mind though that i've owned a few of the origiinal charges over the years and may easily have a biased opinion - they didn't really do what ford did with the mustang - not a lot of reminiscence going on with this one - i was really hoping for something that reminded me of that great car

no worries - i still have my 968

The power is great but they should have used a new name for this one, I am quite young and was not around when the Chargers originally came out but I don't think I've ever seen one with 4 doors before. Just a thought.

you would be very right - that was one of my big gripes too - the charger was the sport model of the coronet - i'm pretty sure the coronet had a 4-door model - that's what they should have called it, if they wanted to draw a parallel - it has a lot more similarity to that

I like the new Charger for the same reason I like the 968 - its different. By the way, I read where there will be a manual version introduced next year with improved brakes and suspension. It will be marketed as a 'racing' model.
