All of my students are teenagers, and many are jealous of my 968, especially when
they hear it rev...
Most are dumbfounded that a teacher, any teacher, has a Porsche. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/blink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> Heads are practically
exploding just from what they believe must be impossible. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/ohmy.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> They just can't wrap their
brains around the concept. I just tell them, "Become a teacher, make the big bucks,
and you can have one too." <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/cool.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> That makes them wonder if maybe teachers are much
better paid than we let on. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> I never divulge that I could buy two nice 968's and pay lower
insurance than their parents new Subaru. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/laugh.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

I'm 23, I was 21 when I bought the 968. Had a 944 before that.
Most teenagers can't afford a 968 so if they're into these they get a 944. There's a lot of 944 owners under 23, and they're a cool bunch overall. There are of course the riceboys and nooblets but it's really not bad at all compared to integra communities.

I fit into that category as well, when I bought my first Porsche, an 84 944 NA in early 1995 I was 17, of course you couldn't touch a 968 back then for less that 27K and a high school kid with a part time job could hardly afford that, I bought my 1994 968 in 1999, at the tender age of 21, sold it when I purchased a 1997 993 C4S while I was on active duty, sold that later and have been Porscheless for the first time in my life for the last 3 years, but I've been looking for another 968.

I guess it is just you and me then. I am 19. Unfortunately I only get to drive my car in the summer because I am at college and don't have my car up here. I live about 30 minutes south of San Francisco though.
