Hello, and good luck in your search.  These cars are getting old and will take some TLC if it hasn't already been given.  That being said, my 968s have been among the most reliable cars I've had.

Thanks.  Carrollton is in my backyard.   I'll have to check there.   I need to learn more about maintenance first.

I was traveling for business earlier this week and looked a purple
968 coupe in Raleigh, NC (currently listed on eBay).  The interior, body, and paint were all good.   No idea on the mechanicals as I only quickly looked as the exterior color was definitely not for me.   I tend to favor the less popular paint colors, but again not that one.

Here is a coupe for sale in my San Diego area.  Black, 237,xxx miles miles, salvage title for $13,000 seems a little overpriced to me.

Here is a cab (not coupe) that looks interesting.   Rare metallic oak green exterior color,. 82,000 miles, for $8,500 seems like a good deal.

Here is a coupe in Orange County, desirable M030 option (you'd have to verify), asking $17,500 from a dealer (those decals would have to go!!!).

I'd stay away from that last car.  The blue car doesn't look to be an M030 car, the brakes and wheels are wrong.  Additionally, the struts have the wrong caps making me think it doesn't have the struts either.  The adjustments for the fronts will not fit under the caps on the front struts.  Who knows what else they are trying to pass off...

Wimbledon Green is a very rare color and I will be selling one of my 2 coupes. One is a true M030 car with black interior, 114,000 miles, and over $25,000 in maintenance and upgrades in just the last 18 months, including D1R supercharger. The other is a 52,000 mile car with cashmere interior, new belts/rollers, new tires, new brakes, leather dash, and new paint (paint was cooked from Florida sun).

Ryker, I think you should select one of your Vanagons (preferably a Syncro), paint it Wimbledon green, and then sell it combined with one of your 968s as a matched pair!

Wimbledon green does look nice.   Five 968s is quite the collection.

Is the M030 only suspension and brakes?

968Syncro, I actually currently own 2 Syncros a 91 and an 87. I am converting both to Subaru 2.2L. I actually have considered painting a van Wimbledon Green! My next project is to convert a full Westy to a C4 drivetrain from a wrecked 996. That will be the ultimate Syncro!

Yeah, M030 is a lot of big and small parts but essentially brakes, suspension, and came with the 17" wheels.

Ok Ryker,  very cool.  I do really like the color (and obviously 968 coupes and Syncros).  And hope it is possible to see a Vanagon some day in Wimbledon Green.   I think it might be very attractive, and set the tone into a new dimension with the Vanagon guys.

About:  "My next project is to convert a full Westy to a C4 drivetrain from a wrecked 996."

Oh that's nothing!  Well I still have an outboard motor I bought for $0.65 at 14 years old from my neighbor back on the east coast.  Got it running after buying a spark plug for $1.25 and cut some gaskets from sheets of cork (make your own gasket).  It is a Scott-Atwater from the 50s, all of 3.6 horse power.  Our family used it quite a bit on many lakes.  I think I'll install it in the Vanagon and that way I'll be safe as you clear the road ahead in your 996 powered Vanagon.   Oh Well.  Sad .  I'll send you a picture, in its current state it is kinda "forest green" the original color.

But do paint a Vanagon Wimbledon Green, would love to see it, I think it is a very good match to the character of the Syncro, and probably many fans would like it.
