Temperature display
#1

Today was warm but it wasn't that warm. My temp display went a little wacko. So, I pulled it out hoping the connector was dirty or unplugged a little. All is fine. Soooo... I'm guessing I need a new temp display?

I'm sure I can figure out the part number but does anyone have any suggestions or a part number handy?

Thanks for the help!

the display may be damaged and not repairable. But sometimes, the little filiment contacts or board elements need resoldering...possible with the steady hand and right tools and magnifier...

Bummer... Well then, does anyone have an "extra" one they are willing to part with? Please send me a message and let me know the details.

Thanks for the quick replies.

It may be worth checking the connection at the sensor end. The sensor is under the right rear-view mirror. It looks like it's trying to display "178.5C, if so, as xrad mentioned it may just a cold/poor solder joint.

if you find the manufacturer name, maybe it was used on other vehicles..like Audi/VW...might be able to source there..

If you just need something to fill the whole, you could use 9446419130001C, but on pelican I see it sells for almost $500. But that is just a clock and not a temperature display.

if you are handy, you could pop in a new display (upgrade)...just have to change the sensor....

Well, no luck from 944online. Maybe this weekend I'll find the time to pull the display and look for a manufacturer or the connections. I'm hoping it's kind of an easy fix but who knows. Maybe I'll bring it in to work and have our engineering department look at it before I keep searching online.

Thank you for the ideas and tips, including the "Asia Engineering" display...

be real careful removing the plastic trim, lighter, and the temp sensor...easy peasy to break tabs...

the rose vent justs twists 1/4 turn left (or thereabouts) to release. Use big flat screwdriver...

Thanks for the reminder. I have had it out a few times now (to change the bulb). You're right, it's not hard but you need to take your time...
