tech day at flash's - sat mar 14
#1

this is a new thread confirming the date, which bounced a bit in the other thread

in advance of the 6th Annual Paso Robles Wine Run (http://www.968forums.com/index.php?showtopic=6622), i am holding a "tech day"

sat mar 14 - starts at 9 - runs until dusk - contact me for directions

we will go through everybody's cars and see the state of things, and make sure everything is up to snuff - i have detailed checklist sheets for this

we can do minor repairs and stuff, install some toys, and generally give everything a once-over - we can get them all up in the air so we can really get a good look - we can take a good look at the suspensions, brakes, yada yada, and make sure we have no issues on the run

there will be donuts and coffee upon arrival, and we'll do a lunch and maybe a dinner too (depending on how late we run)

lol - before anybody asks, no, this isn't a chance to come over for a clutch job, belt job, or install new koni struts -

no, this is not the "detail day" i traditionally hold - i'm going to do that one after we get back - yes, we could do some work in that area, but i want to do the big detail day as a dedicated event

the long term weather forecast look great, so absent any other major glitches which might come up b/w now and then, I'll be there !

bob, let's work on my car first thing in the morning because I want to have the engine bored to a 3.2L while I'm there and must head out by noon, give or take an hour ..

Travis no can show. I am really trying hard to work through the day but it's our (my daughter and me) birthday weekend. We're having a big bash on Saturday afternoon and her soccer in the am. Looks like a visit from me is highly unlikely. I'm really bummed about it but I'm going to have to get over it. Somehow I think you guys will manage without me If I can swing it, even for a few minutes, I will definitely drop by. Hopefully I'll have to "run to the store" for something...

Travis

finally getting a moment to think about this - not sure i can pull it off, but i'll give it a try

who knows how to do a "web cam" thing?

this really needs to be simple, because i haven't all that much time to play around and "go and buy this" and "install that" - i need clear step by steps that are easy to follow and pretty universally applicable - it would be better for me if it worked on a small white version of the G4 mac laptop, but i do have a T20 thinkpad too

I've got one built into my laptop. Never hooked it up to the internet though - too afraid of spys and such. Let me ask my kids tonight and I'll give you a call.

is anybody planning on going to "Coffee and Cars" before the thing at my place? i won't be going if nobody else is, but if somebody else (besides ron) is going, i'll join in

if you don't know what this is, do a search in the events section - you'll see it and be amazed

PLEASE let me know so i can plan accordingly

Get an Aiptek Record the highlights of the event, then edit and easily post it to Youtube or other video site later.

Understood. Perhaps someone else already has one. For us east coasters it would be the next best thing to being there.
